I remember when Common Projects were only known by artists and type designers. And you wore them with APC Petite Standards and you spent most of your time on Tumblr reposting Lawrence Weiner’s art. How the hell did these become the VC uniform?

Another reason I find the europoor meme absurd
In Berlin, childcare is effectively free. I pay €50/month for a Kita that in New York would likely cost $3–5k/month. They have a chef and garden.
Berlin is safer than most comparable US cities, life expectancy is higher than in many of them, getting hit by a car won’t bankrupt you, there’s public space, low car dependency, and a sense of public life.
People earn more in the US. A lot of that upside gets eaten by childcare, healthcare, cars, rent, education, insurance, and private substitutes for public goods.
I love the US, and at the highest end it’s hard to prevent talent from jumping ship to make serious money there.
But for ordinary life, the GDP story is incomplete.
Marko Jukic@mmjukic
It's true that Europeans pay suffocatingly high taxes compared to Americans, but at the same time it is remarkable how childcare and healthcare sticker prices are also genuinely 5x, 10x, or 20x lower than in America.

Palantir software is used by factory workers, hospital staff, and many other working class people around the country, and world, to do their jobs better.
you’re just so fried from the bs in your echo chamber that anything Palantir-related is automatically bad and makes you feel some type of way.

a surveillance company dropping an iconic French workwear chore jacket that is a symbol for working class, anti-corporate, artisanal wear, is the epitome of ‘taste washing’. i can’t believe I ever tried selling fashion to techies 🙄
