A Carmel teen is facing 10 felony charges for allegedly possessing child sex abuse material of victims younger than one years old. 19-year-old Ian Altenhof turned himself into police on Monday, according to court records. He has since posted bond. Court documents show the Hamilton County Metro ICAC Taskforce began investigating Altenhof in April 2025 after cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Police reportedly tracked the cyber tips to Althenhof's Discord, Kik and Google accounts. Investigators applied for and executed search warrants at Altenhof's home in August. Altenhof reportedly asked for an attorney when questioned by polcie/ Court documents show when investigators searched Altenhof's devices, the photos application was open with a suspected image of child pornography. A deeper search of his tablet reportedly uncovered "hundreds to thousands" more files of child sex abuse material, images/videos depicting bestiality and anime images/videos depicting children and infants. Altenhof is scheduled to be back in court May 26. @WTHRcom
