I don't entirely disagree with this, and I have always been a proponent of a two-state solution, but the key issue I see here is that states aren't "given," they are created through institution-building and cultural-political development. And, while the current Israeli government has intentionally obstructed institution-building to the extent of bringing the PA to near-collapse, the Palestinians have never honestly attempted to build the institutional and cultural foundations for a state necessary to effectuate a successful two-state solution. Three serious problems come to mind: the unwillingness to establish a monopoly on force, institutionalized through pay-for-slay, which rewards criminals for violating the putative state's monopoly when they engage in racially- or politically-motivated violence; endemic corruption, founded upon extra-state clan and patronage systems that negate the putative state's status as a neutral arbiter and self-interested extra-political entity; and an unwillingness within Palestinian civil society and political institutions to enforce a norm demanding openness to stable and non-aggressive relations with Israel as a prerequisite for political participation. Until these steps are taken, there is no "state" that the Palestinians can be "given," as any state will merely serve as a patronage scheme on top of a diffuse terror network on top of a toxic political culture that will continual drive Palestinian society towards existential conflict with its far-stronger (and, institutionally-speaking, more legitimate) neighbor. There is no state without the rule of law, and the social prerequisites for law don't appear to exist in Palestinian society to date. Indeed, much of the structure of Palestinian society seems to founded upon ideologies, institutions and narratives of a distinctly antilegal character.

I will look inside & reflect.
