We in #radonc must not fall into the narrative that de-intensification of treatment means avoiding RT. Risking triple modality treatment in conditions that can be cured with one or two doesn’t make sense. We need to destigmatize RT. Sx and chemo aren’t walks in the park either.

GW treats p16+ OPX with neoadjuvant chemo+TORS+/-adj RT(PMID: 38581118). 90% do not get RT due to low residual disease at surgery, & PFS >95% in these chemo-selected pts. Anecdotally, as main HN #radonc at GW, I've seen these pts do well but more study is needed. Some thoughts🧵

++ Italy's 🇮🇹 number of registered Covid-19 cases grows by 8.1%. First time it is down to single digit. Today's death toll is 601 down from 651 & 793 in the previous two days. Italy went into lockdown two weeks ago. Scientists said it would take two weeks to see some results.
