@Beka_Rice @pmgarman I literally searched for both of your usernames, and nothing came up, so I went with the company names! WTF X?

@KatieKeithBarn2 I didn't correct @Beka_Rice on this for like 4 years but the ‘i’ in Misner is pronounced like the ‘i’ in ‘mine’ or ‘island,’ not like the ‘i’ in ‘miss.’

@ianmisner @neke989 @jamesckemp SkyVerge has a free version with just sequential numbers. This is a legal requirement in some countries (eg Spain requires sequential invoice numbers). The pro version was built to add format when selling in multiple channels / req for syncing elsewhere + to skip free orders

@neke989 @jamesckemp I also recall: * Some people interpret German VAT reporting to require it, although I think it's actually unnecessary, the customer is always right. * Some smaller stores had the expectation that they could handle fulfillment management by just knowing the next order number

How important to you are sequential order IDs in WooCommerce?

Shopify Diary #1: Listened to pca.st/v8dhexk8 with Shopify Head of Growth @archieabrams (recommended by @SRHDesign). He said most of their revenue comes from a small % of successful merchants. Does this suggest that we should price our apps based on the revenue they generate for the merchant? 🤔

Just finished a fantastic episode of @WPProductTalk, in which special guest @Beka_Rice from @KestrelWP provided a huge wealth of actionable advice on creating the perfect pricing strategy for any WordPress or SaaS product. Lots of ideas I hadn't heard before 💡 youtube.com/live/zjfoXbyVb…

@AlexStandiford @TacoVerdo Cube rule still applies, definitely sandwich. Canonically, hot dogs are tacos and thus cannot be their own category.

@verygoodplugins @KatieKeithBarn2 lol those would be some impressive mental gymnastics given plugin devs never give any rights / licenses like that, and remember .org isn’t part of the foundation anyway

@Rarst @ZillowFights it does change the experience, yes. Just clarifying it’s not like a transparent aff ID replacement, a lot of plugins and hosts used to do that

does anyone know actual story with random "WP Engine stole money from WooCommerce" reddit comment? it doesn't sound outright hallucinated, but it doesn't sound like a coherent description of what actually happened

@Rarst @ZillowFights It lets you use stripe’s hosted checkout page instead of the woo one (don’t know of a plugin that does). For a simple seller it prob converts better, it’s much nicer than the default, but haven’t used myself in prod

I don't really engage in discussions RE wp.org anymore, so if anyone is curious, my position, which pretty much applies to any of these discussions is this: I think Automattic can do whatever they want to with their website: wordpress.org.

@JS_Zao @cdils @jkoussertari @pat_ramsey I get that there *might* have been ways for some of it we didn’t think of, we def tried very hard to create the most modern woo theme possible and it’s just not worth the effort

@JS_Zao @cdils @jkoussertari @pat_ramsey But then doing things like more complex filtering of a query is straight up miserable. We found hard blockers just in how coupled data is to UI — it’s pretty much impossible to create some designs that are more dynamic than just rendering static blog content

Agencies building with #WordPress: Is anyone using FSE for functionally complex builds, or is everyone still in hybrid theme land? My assumption is it's the latter, but maybe I'm wrong.
