Deeply honoured to be appointed by the Prime Minister as Health & Social Care Secretary. Huge thanks to @RachelReevesMP for my time as part of her fantastic team. Can't wait to get started and continue @wesstreeting's brilliant work on such a critical mission for our country.

@BriskittyBackup Gender critical beliefs are also protected under the Equality Act 2010. I can call a Transwoman a man because it's a fact.

It’s crazy how the entire GC movement is itself a blatant violation of 2010 Equality Act, but it simply does not get enforced.

Hi, trans woman here. In my experience Mothin has been a far stronger ally to trans people than you ever have. This is a blatantly Islamophobic attack on a lovely, kind man who has been firmly supportive of numerous trans women in the Green Party across the country.

What are the LGBT+ policies of Green Party deputy leader Mothin Ali? During his campaign in 2025 for the deputy leadership, Mothin declined to express support for LGBT+ rights To clear the air, @MothinAli needs to make a public statement asap thepinknews.com/2026/05/01/gre…

@petemorristwit I'm sorry to hear this. I sometimes felt sick leaving my mum because of a couple of nurses on the stroke ward.

Sir Peter Morris: Just fed up of all the nonsense.
I can't bottle it up any longer. I had a short spell in Barnsley hospital, following a fall I had at home. The general care was pretty much ok. BUT. They decided I could go home. Brilliant I thought. They sent me to another ward, I ended up in a room on my own, tended by two nurses. They were absolutely vile to me. It honestly felt like I was on the set of 'misery, the movie'. I didn't learn their names...(kinda glad I didn't) they were vile to me. Is that what you have to endure, getting older? I hope not.

@iamwotiam123 @piersmorgan A Transwoman is a Transwoman and that's fine. When the Transwoman says they're an actual woman, they're a liar and respect ends.

@DominicMcGregor I agree with you. If Tories and Labour came up with a sensible, workable plan for immigration, similar to an Australian style points system, they could wipe Reform out. Working class want fairness. Politicians need to listen and stop vilifying them.

Firstly, I’ll state I have never, nor will ever vote reform. But this is the exact problem with the left. They reek of classism and assume anyone that doesn’t agree with them is racist. They are unable to comprehend there is another debate entirely on what - working class people - actually want. Greens and Labour parade themselves as for the working class people but somewhat decide not to listen to actual working class people. The irony is never lost on me.

@sharrond62 It works. The women in my M & S are really good. They can usually do it asking what size you're wearing now, then by eye and trial and error.

@Prison_Screw He has a rucksack so possibly bomb/detonator. He's also holding a knife. I'd be doing everything possible to cuff him. He's that fat that a kick in the gut would probably make no difference. Head or bollocks it is.

The C&R training (Control & Restraint) is exactly the same in prisons, police & army. If a defence of danger to life was presented most juries would buy it or no three man team. It was panic though and not being shift with those two is still my preference.

I’ve done the same training as they have and the only excuse for this is blind panic. When this happens you make sure you’re not sharing their shift pattern because they’ll land you in the sh1t one day.

@Keir_Starmer This guff doesn't even work on its own terms... 🙄 BP’s increased profits from global oil and gas trading are not subject to the UK windfall tax. The Energy Profits Levy applies only to BP's profits from UK oil and gas extraction, thus penalising domestic production. Mad.

Before the war in Iran I made clear: it is only fair that we have a windfall tax when energy companies make windfall profits, so we can help families with the cost of living. The Tories, Reform, SNP all oppose it. Only this Labour government stands up for working people.

This is the reason why we can never reform healthcare in the UK — or even have a sensible debate about it. The moment anyone suggests alternative/additional ways of funding health Labour rushes out privatisation smears and claims US private health insurance is being proposed. Labour has been doing it for decades. It explains why the NHS is effectively beyond reform. The two worst health systems in the rich world are in America and the UK. It’s why nobody has ever copied them. It would be mad to go from ours to theirs (or vice versa). But Europe is awash with health systems that can call on several sources of funds, including many with compulsory public health insurance schemes. They have better health outcomes than the NHS. They are free at the point of use (like the NHS). Most of them are better funded. But Labour puts them out of bounds, refuses even to discuss or consider. So patient care suffers. NHS struggles on. Labour is always telling us we need to get closer to Europe. It’s where we belong. But not when it comes to health, where it insists no lessons can be learned. Pretty pathetic, really.
The Labour Party@UKLabour

Nigel Farage's plan to move to an insurance-based healthcare system would leave you to pick up the bill.

@BelHighlands @jamestaylor99 you have literally just mentioned random departments, then used an old wives tale about paracetamol 😂😂😂😂😂. You mention too many managers, so how does the number of managers in the NHS compare to an organisation of the same size?
