@Leonard42 Well yeah, when you use Jordan Hicks, Chris Murphy, and Lucas Sims in high leverage spots, you shouldn’t expect it to go well. That’s why you should use Grant Taylor and Seranthony Dominguez in the spots they’re supposed to be in

Add Will Venable to the list of unexpected disappointments for the White Sox in 2026. Unfortunately, his job seems pretty tied to Chris Getz’s, so I doubt he’s going anywhere anytime soon. Justin Ishbia please save us

@TheChicagoPope Overall good takes, but I think Venable has done a great job considering the guys he’s been given. Bullpen is just bad as you mentioned, so there’s no way to manage that if it’s just bad. He has to move the lineup around because guys aren’t hitting consistently.

Some #WhiteSox thoughts through 2 weeks: -The Acuña trade is already looking terrible. As predicted, we are going to miss Luis Robert Jr. a lot. -Teams know Murakami is our best hitter by far and pitchers are going to dial in on him. Don't panic: He'll still run into 30+ HR. -Quero & Colson will be fine. Teams had all winter to build scouting reports. They'll both adjust. -Andrew Benintendi doesn't deserve to be on this team anymore. DFA him immediately, @whitesox. -Running with Reese McGuire over Korey Lee will bite us in the ass before long. -Shane Smith isn't a 1, he's a 4 or 5. But when the rotation gets fortified, he'll be very effective. -Davis Martin might finally be becoming a dude. -Kay, Fedde, and Burke are here to eat innings and hopefully stoke trade value. -When the next wave of bats force Chase Meidroth down the order, he is going to have a counting stat renaissance. -Benintendi, Hill, Harris, Acuña, and Peters might be the worst outfield this organization has ever had. Hopefully by August, it will look a lot different. (i.e. LF Antonacci, CF Braden, RF Hays.) -Jordan Hicks is terrifying. I know why Red Sox fans hated him now. -Venable HAS to do a better job making personell calls. So far, his lineups have been questionable and he's done a really poor job with bullpen management. -This bullpen is bad. Really bad. I'd still take the over on wins, but the margin is narrow.

Thought this team had a chance to be another version of the 2005 White Sox. Re-tooled the entire roster before the season and had the best record in baseball through the 35 games.
