@matpolloy A 50-year-old alien that'll live to ~900 is young. A 40-year-old human that will live to ~80 is old.

@SimardPete @TheMG3D And some museums have square picture frames and want to display the Mona Lisa or The Last Supper without matting on the sides. should we use AI to expand da Vinci's paintings?

@TheMG3D because some people have ultrawide monitors and want to watch old movies without black bars on the sides. one of the more practical uses of AI honestly

@StarWarsDaily_ I would assign it a single integer value on the closed interval from 1 to 10, with a higher number correlating to a higher valuation of the film, reflecting my subjective evaluation of the movie.

@mothrasattorney @Skylinex13 It's not automation, it's what's the workload. If amount of work needed goes down, so do jobs. My local grocery store went from having 2 full-time parking lot attendants to 1 part-time "cart boy" because stray carts, parking lot trash, and other needs decreased over the years.

@BenCatnobi @Skylinex13 Automation is a different concern for keeping your job than customers no longer shitting everywhere so you no longer have huge spillages to clean when you’re not checking tickets or working concessions.

@OliverJia1014 Because it's a "risk." In recent history, the 3D cgi animated movies have made buttloads of money, and 2D animated ones have not. As soon as some 2D film makes massive bank for a studio, expect to see 2D flood the market again.

@mothrasattorney @dr68074 @Skylinex13 When my local cinema added more self-serve items and options to the consessions area, it didn't free up staff to "do other jobs around the place"... it simply allowed the managers to cut down on the amount of staff needed to get the job done.

@mothrasattorney @dr68074 @Skylinex13 If the amount of work shrinks, the total man-hours needed to run the theater shrinks, and eventually the jobs shrink. You're not going to get overtime or a second helper to clean if the theater can just be checked and straighted up by the manager in 10 minutes.

@mothrasattorney @dr68074 @Skylinex13 Devil's advocate: If everyone left theaters clean (or clean enough that they could be tidied up by one guy in 5 minutes), you think theaters would employ a group of people to stand around doing nothing? The number of cleaning jobs (or at least the hours of the jobs) would shrink.

@astraiaintel Respecting someone's name, gender, and identity is "culturally normal." It’s basic decency. Calling people what they ask to be called isn't radical; it's respectful. What's actually weird is the obsession with birth certificates, genitals, or a label assigned at birth.

@spidermanias @KMO_X9 Attempting to digest & discuss 1 episode per week wouldn't really work when other members of the community have viewed ahead and know the ending. Communial speculation, reflection and taking the journey together doesn't work when the "answers" and other "spoilers" are out there.

@KMO_X9 You can still do so. No one is stopping “the community” from setting up times to watch the show and then live tweeting about it. This way allows everyone to watch how they want. Everyone gets to choose. This is the best way

@spaceandtech_ Speilberg did not say he "believes" humans are not alone in the universe... he said it is a "guarantee" that life exists beyond Earth. It's not a belief, it's not a possibility, it's a fact. youtube.com/watch?v=aAaCUt…

@MovieFlameProd But regardless of her personal involvment in the day-today production, she is profitting off the show exisiting (aka she is making money from it's success). And she is using that money to spread hate. Therefore helping the show make money is helping her spread hate.

This just isn't true AT ALL... -We know that JK Rowling is an executive producer of the series -We know that she was heavily involved in choosing the showrunner (Francesca Gardiner) -We know that she was heavily involved in choosing the director and other executive producers like Mark Mylod -We know that she worked closely with the writers on the script -We know that she has fully gone over and approved the early episodes Lithgow saying this is crazy. He clearly has no idea what's going on in a show where he play Albus Dumbledore, one of the main characters... Not a good look
Wizarding World Direct@WW_Direct

John Lithgow talks about J.K. Rowling’s involvement in the HARRY POTTER TV series: “She’s not really involved in this production at all. The people who are re-adapting Harry Potter and turning it into an eight-year-long TV series are remarkable.”

@theinkubus @MorganEndicott4 @Johnny2Cellos That's 'cause everything preceding it was his actual fall to the dark side. He became "Darth Vader" before this fight started when he pledged loyalty to the Sith in Palpatine's office. This was just a flashy way to give him that famous suit. But his emotional struggle was over.

Honestly i found everything preceding this fight to be more impactful for Anakin's character than the fight itself. Anakin's desperation to save Padme, his regretful trust towards Palpatine, the youngling scene. These pull a lot of the weight of creating Vader well before his fight with Obi Wan. The proceedings fight is fun to watch, but it does feel like a roller coaster that overstays its welcome by the latter half.

@MorganEndicott4 @Johnny2Cellos But the end of this battle did NOT directly lead into Anakin becoming Darth Vader. He became Vader BEFORE the battle (when he pledged alegience to the Sith kneeling before Sidious saying "henceforth, you shall be known as Darth Vader") He already fell and was Vader at this point.

@Johnny2Cellos If you’re not able to feel the emotional weight of this battle knowing the end of this battle directly led into Anakin becoming Darth Vader then that’s on you though I am genuinely curious to hear you explanation other than style over substance

@readstarwars Would general audiences have cared about the "Obi-Wan Kenobi" series if they recast a third actor to play middle-aged Kenobi between Ewan and Alec; and got a new actor for Anakin? Some projects and characters are about star-power, not just character-power.

@readstarwars As you show, they continue to recast post-Solo. But depends on who the character is. Solo (like Indy) is so iconically Ford. Audiences care about seeing Harrison as much as (if not more than) Han. Would TFA and that "Chewie, we're home" moment have worked if they recast old Han?
