Trump's decision to go to war can't be understood by looking at U.S. national security interests. The best explanation is to examine Israel's strong desire to drag the U.S. into this war and the control that pro-Israel donors hold over American foreign policy. We are in the grip of a foreign power. [link below]

One of the debaters is from an org that has accepted more money from Pentagon contractors than any other think tank in the U.S. The other is from a think tank that has taken $0 from them. Tune in to see if you can figure out who's who!

@sfrantzman Is it now? How do you know this? I've shared a lot of meals with active-duty service members (will be dining with some tonight, in fact) and can't recall lobster tail ever being on the menu.

@BenFreemanDC The lobster is for the troops. It’s interesting how American soldiers eating lobster is seen as a problem among some

I was in a 2 hour briefing today on the Iran War. All the briefings are closed, because Trump can't defend this war in public. I obviously can't disclose classified info, but you deserve to know how incoherent and incomplete these war plans are. 1/ Here's what I can share:

The United States alone comprises about 40% of world military spending. Including our treaty allies, it’s about 67%. If that’s not enough, we have a strategy problem, not a spending problem.

Dozens of senior national security officials turned Pentagon contractor executives flock to the secretive Bohemian Grove every summer, according to membership and camp attendance lists. Recognize any of these names?

Capitol Hill Republicans are about to confront a staggering price tag for Trump’s Middle East war. Some GOP lawmakers are hearing estimates that the Pentagon is spending as much as $2 billion a day. politico.com/news/2026/03/0…

If the think tank @CSIS was really concerned about munitions supplies, they could have pointed out that giant defense contractors like Lockheed and RTX were spending way more on stock buybacks than R&D. But contractors are CSIS' funders, so here we are. readsludge.com/2026/03/05/def…

Quoted in this piece on how think tank experts pushing for investment in missile production and defense are often funded by Lockeed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon
David Moore@ppolitics

Experts with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (@CSIS) will appear on your media and say they're concerned about munitions stockpiles. They won't say that the defense contractors that give them millions spent lavishly on stock buybacks. readsludge.com/2026/03/05/def…
