I realize the timer was in place for 11 years, so a lot of baseball fans don't remember the Home Run Derby without it. Jeff is right. It was painful. So many taken pitches. So few home runs. People remember the one round Josh Hamilton had, but the timer made everyone Hamilton.

The Odyssey is tough for me man. On one hand, you have my favorite director, who's put out nothing but straight gas for decades. Interstellar, Inception, and The Prestige are three of my all time favorites. That's not to mention The Dark Knight Trilogy, Dunkirk, etc. (cont)

Casual World Cup fans will complain that offsides, penalties and flopping completely ruin soccer for them, but will gladly spend every Saturday and Sunday yelling at the TV over every single penalty, dumb rule and missed call in football. Textbook confirmation bias.

The Pirates used Gregory Soto in the 8th tonight with a 3-run lead, facing 3-4-5 in the Phillies' lineup. He recorded two outs and was charged with 2 ER. Mason Montgomery is currently warming up to get the 9th.

Signing either of these 2 was an unserious move that made zero sense from a roster standpoint. If you had $12 million to spend there were probably a hundred better ways to spend it. If you were gonna make an unserious move, just sign the franchise legend

Massive organizational failure by the Pirates for their best reliever a year ago to be DFA’d before June. This is the right move and he put himself in this position but the job Bill Murphy and his staff have done so far this year has been awful.

I understand being upset. Carmen has performed admirably up to this point and exceeded whatever expectations I had of him.
But, like, what the hell, dude? Have you not assessed the current situation? Do you not see the bullpen blowing multiple leads per week? Remember how you are asked every time out how you are completely unable to get outs a 3rd time thru the order?
Be disappointed. I would be, too. But bringing your agent into this topic in front of the media and your teammates in the clubhouse just seems completely out of line.
