While I may cut my children's hair, I am a doctor not a barber. Surgeons are doctors, and their use of gendered titles does not make sense anymore. #SurgeonsAreDrs Surgery is not a rank, so why change your title? It is confusing, so please consider dropping it. Who does it help?

Another version of the left posterior approach to SMA is via infracolic compartment, w DJ flexure pulled medially. L renal v is exposed and proximal SMA exposed from left. Useful in RAMPS procedure.

Usually approach from the right and a little from posterior. It takes a little longer but really helps w more advanced disease. @sanjay_HPB has some excellent diagrams of the approach.

In surgery, female trainees are granted less operative autonomy than male colleagues (jamanetwork.com/journals/jamas…). We all need help to see our biases, and be challenged that they do affect our opinions.

@HalletJulie @hpb_so @CHPBAsurg @IHPBA Have had cases of CA stenosis and done MAL release twice, but unsure if was needed or mot. Maybe CA stenosis is also present in older, more frail pts. Maybe other vessels are also compromised. I will give it more thought and continue to test clamp!

As a PGY1, the senior resident told me to always look for CA stenosis when assessing for whipple I've mostly thought of it as relative contra-indication to whipple - unless aberrant HA anatomy or GDA can be preserved What say you #some4hpb? @hpb_so @CHPBAsurg @IHPBA
