@rfkenmore Humbled to own all of the RTW options listed here 🙏. Would also comment that the Anglo-Italian joints are not nearly as cool since they killed the full strap. And I’d add Lobb Lopez to this list.

Definitive BIFL/Grail Loafer List —Alden Leisure Handsewn (LHS) -American Ivy OG since 19th century -Strained production. Even stores asking to stock are being turned away —Crockett & Jones Harvard¹ -English take on Ivy -Slightly more refined than LHS -Easier to find rubber soled than Alden —JM Weston 180 -French icon, created mid 20th century -Still Ivy-inspired but most contemporary look of the lot -Distinctly high-walled with split toe -Tannery bought from Hermes Bonus: Seiji McCarthy -Bespoke commission -Hand made in Japan -American-inspired -Several thousand dollars ¹ London Suitmaker Anglo Italian offers a C&J variant called the Unley, which is also within the LHS x Harvard orbit. Refined further with a daintier vamp and more sloped, slipper-like

@jakewoolf Harvard for sure…I feel like the last slightly better than Alden’s and think the quality is slightly better at roughly the same price point

Awesome to see @FootJoy doing a shoe with Redan. You can get access to this and $750 polos by paying $4000 to Redan. Shoe is made in Ho Chi Minh. We live in a Dystopian world.

One thing I’ve appreciated very much about Adam Peters so far is that he’s not afraid to spend $ and draft capital on the trenches. He went insane on the OLine, now focus is shifting towards the other side of the ball. That’s where teams win championships.

@JayDanielsMVP Prioritizing someone who “still wants to continue playing football” is a huge red flag from this front office

Also on Brandon Aiyuk from today’s pod: • Front office is aware Aiyuk desires to play with Jayden Daniels • Aiyuk is/has been working out, so he definitely wants to continue playing football. #RaiseHail

This is a wonderful post for men who own sneakers for anything beyond tennis and the gym.
derek guy@dieworkwear

This list will mostly focus on penny loafers because that's the most popular style, but every one of these companies will have things such as horsebit loafers, tassel loafers, and sometimes even Belgian style loafers. 1. Meermin: The most affordable on this list at around $230. They have two primary toe shapes — a slightly sleeker style that can be worn with tailoring and then a more rounded style that's better for casualwear. The construction tends to be slightly stiffer than other makers on this list, but will break in just fine. Use them around the neighborhood for short spurts before taking them out on all-day walks. 2. Quoddy and Rancourt: Two US makers who produce hand-sewn penny loafers in Maine. By handsewn I mean the apron is sewn using just a needle and thread (no machine). Both companies offer beefroll penny loafers, which are called so because they have little bits that resemble a roll of beef. These styles go best with things like flat front chinos, oxford button-downs, and Shetland sweaters. Both companies have MTO programs if you want a different leather upper or sole style. 3. Morjas and Myrqvist: A little sleeker and European with marketing aimed at slightly younger people. Morjas is right at $400, but you can get a $20 coupon by using their "refer a friend" program. Myrqvist uses a softer single-rubber sole if you want something with more traction on indoor floors or simply want something with no break-in period. (The style is sometimes called a "city sole" at other companies). 4. Grant Stone and TLB Mallorca: Grant Stone offers a shape that works between casualwear and sport coats. I prefer their loafers in suede, rather than the pull-up Chromexcel (CXL). TLB offers a higher level of construction. They use leather heel stiffeners, rather than the Celastics you'll find elsewhere on this list. All of these shoes are made from full-grain leather and Goodyear welt soles. There are a ton of other options, such as Jay Butler, and ways to get higher-priced loafers for less, such as waiting for Alden Factory seconds to drop at The Shoe Mart.

Andrew I love you but this is woke european propaganda. I have a curated, elite loafer rotation including Alden shell cordovan strap 8’s on the way. That being said, patriots chase their kids around the neighborhood, help their neighbors with projects, keep their lawns tidy, walk their dogs, smoke meats, throw batting practice at the park, go to ball games. You don’t do those activities in fucking loafers or boat shoes. You do them in new balance 990’s. Expand life brother. @MWPutters

Jack Carlson was on Blamo podcast Best part by a mile is him saying he's moving collection forward eg. by adding a Shaggy Dog logo on the sweaters And Kirkland basically says he hates it Definitely curious to see how he fares there One thing I think he gets right is the shirt fits are way off from industry standards Ie. their 'Trim fit' is a legit Classic And their 'Classic fit' is a literal bed sheet – wearable only for big-bellied booomers

@team980 you ejected both coordinators...why is Quinn still around? The obvious reason is ownership doesn't to pay two head coaches salaries at the same time. Pay closer attention...thriftiness is what this new regime is about.

Washington offered MacDonald. He went to Seattle instead
We Want Dallas@WeWantDallas

Reminder the #Commanders were very interested in Mike Macdonald. But b/c they had to wait to interview Ben Johnson, by the time he stood them up, MM was already too far down the road with Seattle & they never got a 2nd interview. Ended up with DQ, the last coach hired that cycle.

Aaron Glenn retaining his job is stunning. 3-14 debacle while leading NFL in “this job is too big for you” press conference fiascos. Already blowing out coordinators and major portions of staff. Harbaugh, Stefanski, McDermott, Tomlin and 6 others got canned. He survived. Wild.
