@Benign_99 @Dragon_Samurai0 Steam concurrents are a really bad way of judging the success of mostly single player story driven games. Echoes of Aincrad will be no different. The best way to gauge it will be sales numbers and of course, completion numbers based on achievements on platforms.

It was always proficient at SAO lore, better than main series at times. We had an entire game on the Great Separation...

@TheDavidVinc They are testing new ways how to make SAO games because for some reason they decided to end the gameverse that was running ever since the first game in 2013 with Last Recollection. Fractured Daydream was one attempt at a game outside gameverse, this might be another.

Very interesting that an official account is kind of skirting around that it's a Sword Art Online title, they just call it "Echoes of Aincrad". Also in the trailer "Sword Art Online" is TINY compared to the MASSIVE "Echoes of Aincrad". This could be their way of distancing themselves from SAO as a whole and making this a jumping off point to something more - and hopefully it's an indicator of a quality game.

The Garrisons are visually and audibly impressive, there’s no question about that. The art and sound teams always deliver. But it really feels like they were rushed out the door, as if a lot of intended mechanics never made it in. Honestly, it’s a real shame. Especially considering this will be the last update we get to adventure mode in almost 4 months.
