GRAND GENEVA RESORT (THE BRUTE) Lake Geneva, Wisc. Robert Bruce Harris, 1968 $179 #628 Midcentury golf gets flak for being boring, but I found this rollicking property unique, exciting and nicely routed. Some of the most pitched greens and the biggest oval bunkers I’ve seen.

What’s the hardest Par 3 you have played, under 200 yards? (Bonus for pictures.) With all the talk about Nelly’s 10 at Lancaster, it made me wonder what else compares? The 9th at Myopia comes to mind. 140 yards, 30 feet wide. Any miss on any side is often a double bogey.
