You can’t join, and no amount of money will get you membership – inside the Gary Player Golf Course in South Africa that is off limits to everyone⛳ This elusive 18-hole golf course set in a 5000-hectare game farm is home to the country’s only floating tee. It’s so exclusive that you won’t find a website or contact number online. Situated near Koster in the North West Province, South Africa, not far from Rustenburg on Millvale Road, only those with an invitation can play here. Formerly known as Morningside Farm Golf Club, the golf course is now called Millvale Golf Estate. The property was initially owned by a British arms dealer who died mysteriously in a boating accident on the Orange River. Today, the estate is privately owned by Gary Player (60%) and Nathan ‘Natie’ Kirsh (40%), who purchased the site circa the 2008 market crash. Nathan Kirsh is a self-made billionaire who was born in Potchefstroom on 6 January 1932. Mr Kirsh built his wealth after launching Jetro, a cash-and-carry business in Brooklyn, New York, in 1976. Nearly two decades later, he bought Restaurant Depot and, in 1995, introduced its first retail store in New York. The golf course offers accommodation for players, spanning 3000 m2 with 27 rooms. There is also a landing strip for aeroplanes on the property where a Boeing 737 can land. Guests are also welcome to make use of the padel courts, mountain biking trails and the prestigious wine cellar. The golf course employs over 100 members of staff to keep the grounds gorgeous and operational. The course was initially established as a 9-hole Gary Player course custom-designed on a section of the late owner’s farm, Richard Charter. Tyrone Yates then designed a further nine holes for the owner. Are you one of the players who have had the privilege of playing on this course? I would love to hear more about your experience in the comments.

There’s been A LOT of talk about the renovations at Fourways Mall. I decided to pop into the mall and see the R400 million worth of upgrades for myself… Let’s start with that drop-and-go entrance - it used to be pure chaos. They’ve redesigned the layout to accommodate quick Uber drop-offs. This entrance used to see around 16 000 people a day… now, thanks to the new e-hailing services drop off, foot traffic has shot up to around 67 000 people per day. Big difference. We know that the mall has struggled with a high level of vacancies. I was pleasantly surprised to see the number of new tenants taking up shop inside. The new managing agents, Flanagan and Gerrard, along with Moolman Group, have reduced vacancies from 24% to 13%. They’ve leased over 20,000 m2 of space to new tenants and completed over 50,000 m2 in renewals. Even the Spur is back. It’s nice to see that Spur has once again taken up space in the mall. This specific Spur franchisee owns over 50 Spurs and Hussar Grills nationwide. I also noticed that there are two Lovisa Jewellery shops in the mall, which suggests they must be doing very well to justify two shops in the same mall. Let’s talk parking. If you’ve ever tried to park at Fourways, you’ll know how frustrating it’s been, like a dark, never-ending maze. But they’ve finally attempted to make it make sense. There are 8000 parking bays and now they’re numbered, colour-coded, and way better lit. They spent around R24 million just upgrading the lighting across the mall, and it looks 1000 times better. I’m not sure if you remember, but there used to be dozens of yellow buckets sprinkled throughout the corridor floors catching rainwater from the leaking roof. The roof has had a serious makeover - 60 000m2 repaired and more still being replaced. Leaking ceilings and the watermarks are gone. A lot of what they’ve done isn’t even stuff you can see. I spoke to management, and a big chunk of the budget went into behind-the-scenes renovations such as electrical systems, HVAC upgrades, and all the unsexy essential infrastructure work. Retail success relies on footfall, yes, but more than that, it depends on relevance. What stood out to me was the shift towards experiential retail - which none of the other nearby malls are really offering. I checked out their rooftop padel courts and the largest basement tactical shooting range in the southern hemisphere. You can shoot up to 107 metres, and it accommodates 44 people at once. That’s definitely a first in South African retail. They’ve also got Bounce, and Total Ninja Interactive is coming soon too - all designed to get people off their couches and into the centre. You don’t have space for this kind of thing at Sandton City, so I think Fourways is leaning into a smart niche here. And the question on all of your minds… THE PLANE. What is up with the plane? Well, she’s been restored and they have tiled the area below. I got to walk inside the plane and it looks neat. Perhaps a perfect spot for a new tenant sometime soon? So there you have it. I took a proper walk through and saw the multi-million rand upgrades with my own eyes. For me, the real takeaway is this: it’s not just about leasing out square metres anymore. It’s about experience, consistency, and showing up for your tenants and customers. The new team said what they were going to do - and they’re actually doing it. That matters.

@theeignorantfuk Even when you sell your property the valuation is almost irrelevant, the market is what matters. Every property owner wants their property to be valued lower to pay less property rates. It is pretty obvious.

I just returned from filming multiple documentaries in South Africa… I can assure you: no one in South Africa sleeps with their doors unlocked. That illusion of safety is reserved for the 1%—people like Cyril Ramaphosa and Johann Rupert—whose wealth is rooted in ANC corruption. Living in mansions protected by 24/7 armed security, motion detectors, cameras, electric fences, biometric gates, and private patrol units does not count as “sleeping with your door unlocked”. Meanwhile, the average South African installs burglar bars, panic buttons, razor wire, and sleeps with a gun next to the bed praying that they will live to see another day. You think people like @CyrilRamaphosa have to organize community protection groups on WhatsApp with his neighbors to stay safe? Decades of state looting & capture have gutted the energy grid, collapsed/corrupted law enforcement & the judicial system, destroyed the once thriving economy, and unleashed a crime wave so horrifying you’d think you were in a movie. The ultra rich aren’t safe—they’re just hiding in fortresses, while the rest of the population are left to survive in what can only be described as a war zone.

We want to update you on an incident that happened with our Grok response bot on X yesterday. What happened: On May 14 at approximately 3:15 AM PST, an unauthorized modification was made to the Grok response bot's prompt on X. This change, which directed Grok to provide a specific response on a political topic, violated xAI's internal policies and core values. We have conducted a thorough investigation and are implementing measures to enhance Grok's transparency and reliability. What we’re going to do next: - Starting now, we are publishing our Grok system prompts openly on GitHub. The public will be able to review them and give feedback to every prompt change that we make to Grok. We hope this can help strengthen your trust in Grok as a truth-seeking AI. - Our existing code review process for prompt changes was circumvented in this incident. We will put in place additional checks and measures to ensure that xAI employees can't modify the prompt without review. - We’re putting in place a 24/7 monitoring team to respond to incidents with Grok’s answers that are not caught by automated systems, so we can respond faster if all other measures fail.

CCP propaganda videos are always drone footage from the sky, because on a street level it's the most dystopian and depressing sight you've ever witnessed. Japan and Korea never advertise like this, because they have nothing to hide.

You'll are like an echo chamber of misinformation. You're amplifying propaganda! You're making this all about #SouthAfrica🇿🇦 which suggests that we're being targeted. US President Donald Trump signed Executive Order 14162 in terms of which the USA is engaging in a re-prioritisation exercise & is thus revoking & rescinding the USA International Climate Finance Plan issued by the previous administration, including policies that were implemented to advance JETP. As a result, the USA has announced the termination of its membership of the International Partners Group (IPG) for JETPs South Africa, Indonesia & Vietnam.
