Appointing Michael Carrick as the Head Coach permanently would tell the world that Manchester United don’t want evolution but rather they want nostalgia, familiarity. Carrick would bring stability, not standards. Comfort, not confrontation to the club. The right man that can work with the Wilcox and Omar Berrada without being at loggerheads. The positives of Carrick being made the permanent manager is that he is the embodiment of the old ways, the United DNA, he understands the club, and he has most of the support fans and the pundits cause they are his mates & he is one of us and also he is tactically flexible. He will get Less toxicity and negativity towards himself when things will go wrong instead they will defend/make up excuses for him in the media than rip into his tactics or formation if he is chosen for the rebuild of the club and its DNA. On the flip side, which is the negative. Is he the second coming of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer? Is he history just repeating itself? What style of football does he play? What happens when counterattacking football doesn’t work? He is a yes man used by the board to mask their failures. Will he be backed by the board if chosen? And lastly, appointing him as a permanent Head Coach will it be done on the basis or idea that he can be our very own Mikel Arteta in the flesh cause we are so desperate to get back to the top.
