The tragedy of Burkina Faso today is that the soldiers in power have stopped acting like commanders and started acting like influencers. The junta has mastered the revolutionary aesthetic, crisp fatigues, high production TikTok clips, and international photo-op tours to talk about sovereignty. But while they travel the world for applause, they have abandoned the trenches. 60% of the country is now outside government control. Two million people, 10% of the population, are displaced. Over 1,800 civilians have been killed since 2023, with the majority of these deaths caused by the military and its own militias, not just the rebels. Winning the war on social media and at diplomatic summits doesn't stop bullets in Burkina Faso. Ibrahim Traore is punishing critics with forced conscription to hide the carnage, he is not liberating the people, he is just managing a lie while the country burns. youtu.be/bGEwqqK598g?si…

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the disgraced French politician and former Managing Director of the IMF who resigned amid accusations of sexual assault has found, in the court of @FEGnassingbe a second political life in #Togo. Appointed as personal advisor to the Togolese tyrant with ministerial rank, Strauss-Kahn now sits at cabinet meetings along Togolese ministers helping this Israeli sponsored regime stay in power and continue their criminal illicit arms deals across Africa. He makes over $20 million euros a year according to French media to advise illegitimate regimes like that of the Gnassingbé remain in power. That’s how discredited Western politicians reconvert to advisors of puppet tyrants on the continent at the expense of their people.

KENYA | Despite the ongoing war in Iran, Israeli, American and Iranian diplomats are using various communication strategies to foster good relations with Nairobi. A visit by the Kenyan PM to Israel is under consideration. ➡️ l.africaintelligence.fr/1sL

These are tough times for countries that became independent into the post-1945 global order, emerged from empire, and joined the UN. The deal was to accept hierarchy constrained by rules in exchange for sovereignty, and to use the resulting stability for internal cohesion

I talked to a few sources in Israel and the frustration with the ceasefire is deep. The are incredibly unhappy there, whether in the army or the government: 1) An Israeli official described the announcement as a "complete surprise," claiming the White House provided a last-minute notification rather than engaging in a joint strategic rollout. 2) Just 24 hours prior, senior Israeli officials were publicly telling reporters they did not expect any ceasefire in the near future. They were blindsided. 3) I was told that there was an operation to assassinate Mojtaba Khamenei, which Netanyahu was heavily invested in, which he had tried to convince Trump to wait for. 4) Security officials have leaked concerns that the 14-day pause provides a critical "breather" for Iran to hide or further bury its uranium stockpiles that were recently exposed by Israeli strikes. 5) Ben-Gvir and Smotrich are already threatening that they will collapse the government if the two-week pause transitions into a permanent arrangement without the full dismantling of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. 6) While Tel Aviv saw jubilant celebrations from hostage families, residents in the Upper Galilee view the pause as a security failure that leaves them under the threat of Hezbollah. In the north they are deeply concerned that they will never be safe again. 7) Some in the Mossad still believe that Israel was on the verge of toppling the Islamic Republic. Those reports were shown to the Trump administration which ignored them. 8) Israeli intelligence is certain that while strikes damaged the Natanz and Minzadehei facilities, the core material was not neutralized. All this to say, there is a sense of coitus interruptus in Israeli security circles. They had more targets they wanted to pursue and are now concerned that Trump will force them to stop in Lebanon. Having said that, the plan is now to escalate in Lebanon and Gaza in order to have some achievements. It is difficult for the security establishment to deal with the fact that Hamas, Hezbollah and the IRGC are Mall still in charge after all this time and all this effort. any are blaming Netanyahu for this outcome.

🚨Scoop: An official from one of the mediating countries tells me that the 11th hour deal between US and Iran came together after the involvement of two unlikely actors: Vice President J.D. Vance and China 👀 Vance was looped in late Tuesday and China helped get Iran on board

Information reaching Israel suggests that in recent hours, the chances of a pause in the war have significantly increased. ·The current assessment is that even before President Trump’s ultimatum expires, the two sides—Iran and the United States—may reach an agreement on (at least): o A short ceasefire (one or two weeks); o The reopening (possibly in a somewhat limited capacity) of the Straits of Hormuz; o Negotiations between the parties with the involvement of mediating countries. This development comes against the backdrop of a request from the Prime Minister of Pakistan to President Trump to extend the ultimatum deadline by two weeks (a timeframe the President is known to be quite partial to), as well as a certain Iranian softening regarding their previous demand to finalize only a comprehensive agreement and their refusal to discuss a limited ceasefire.

@andrelmeyer17 @Shamsdale Tbf to him I think the injury to Hincapie plays a role in this. Play Mosquera and he gets an injury, White is the only cover left for the two center half slots.
