Reminiscing about the time we investigated a haunted launderette and we encountered a poltergeist who was really angry that we were there so much so that it threw a full basket of ironed clothes at us. We watched it all unfold.

It's New Year's Eve and I thought I'd let you know that I'm in hospital after stupidly eating what I thought was an onion, but it turned out to be a daffodil bulb. The doctors reckon I'll be out in the Spring.

I absolutely loved being at the British Fruit Conserve exhibition today especially visiting all the stands, picking up some free samples, buying some goodies & listening to all the speakers. It was busy, the event was sold out & the location was rammed; and it was jam-packed.

FACT OF THE DAY: The Milky Bar Kid once had to flee the country because he got in big trouble for constantly wearing a baseball hat that advertised a different chocolate bar. I don't know the full details but there was a pretty big Bounty on his head.

You know what, I still don't think Lucy Letby did it. I don't think there's any compelling evidence those babies were murdered at all. This whole thing disturbs me so much.

@DrHenryMarsh @heyneurosurgeon It’s worse than that Henry, I suspect that there is a strong feeling of ‘uppity consultants who think they are something special need taking down a peg or two’ followed by weaponising @gmcuk it’s ghastly in so many places.

If you asked me about greatest change over the 40 years I worked in the NHS I would say the loss of consultant autonomy. The horrifying story of the baby-murders at Chester and the management’s refusal to listen to the doctors is a ghastly culmination of this process.

@nmassey79 @CrystalChampers I hope he’s well & thriving now. I appreciate probably not the same NICU, but at what must have been a very stressful time for you, could you even imagine entertaining the thought that a staff member might have been trying to harm him at that time? Unthinkable.

@CrystalChampers @nmassey79 No, it was 2 children. Insulin secreted by the pancreas leaves a biochemical trace called C-peptide behind, injected insulin doesn’t, so there’s no doubt someone poisoned 2 babies with insulin. (I know what you mean though, about feeling a bit odd about the case!).
