Ayer en Estaca de Bares otro día más de estupendas observaciones: 1 petrel antillano (Pterodroma hasitata; el 2° aquí tras el 1° del año pasado), 1 Pterodroma, 45 págalos raberos, 95 pomarinos y 9 parásitos, 1.520 pardelas cenicientas y 166 pichonetas, etc!

Negative news: NO further sign of the Norfolk Black-winged Kite since Steve Grimwade watched it fly NW over the Bee-eater site at Gimingham. Just 165 birders connected before it departed

Finally I have sorted out the best pix from my week in Spain, in early June. 3 main targets were both Sandgrouse, & Montagus Harrier…..with a few extras thrown in. I hope you like them…Black-bellied & Pin-tailed Sandgrouse first.

@GibsonTomgibo How were the encouters compared to how rough the sea was? Were you only seasick on one day?

My best take of a Zino's Petrel. We saw 6 individuals during our 3 days of chumming so encountered about 4% of the world population of this Madeiran endemic. On the day I took this I felt horrendously sea sick for the entire time we were out and could barely do anything.

Yellow-billed Kite just put in a brief appearance at Lynnbottom Tip, and flew straight through heading North. Suspect jury will be out for sometime on a bird like this.
