This demo is how I started retrocoding in 2024, and I'm still proud of all the hand-optimized m68k assembly I created. This is a VoxelSpace implementation running on a stock 8MHz 68000, 1MB RAM, 16 color Atari STe. I hope @TheKyleFreeman approves :)

Kimi K3 just 3 shotted this CS:GO × Portal clone for me using around 600,000 tokens. $3.24 in API usage. The same token cost would be $10.80 with Fable 5 & $6 with GPT-5.6 Sol. The era of free indie game development is closer than you think anon!

Introducing Kimi K3: Open Frontier Intelligence 🔹 2.8 Trillion Parameters, 1 Million Context, Native Multimodal 🔹 Kimi Delta Attention enables up to 6.3x faster decoding in million-token contexts 🔹 Attention Residuals deliver ~25% higher training efficiency at <2% additional cost 🔹 Built for long-horizon agentic coding and self-evolving workflows Kimi K3 is now live on on Kimi.com, Kimi Work, Kimi Code, and the Kimi API. I used to read reports of Codex deleting files and assume it took extreme carelessness for that to happen. 𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻'𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲. This morning, while working on a related task, Codex unexpectedly renamed a parent folder in my local Dropbox. That folder contains a huge amount of data. Then: → Codex renamed the parent folder → 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 → Dropbox started reindexing → I thought Codex had deleted the files → I confirmed the data was still there → the reindex would take several hours Luckily, the files were intact. Dropbox was reindexing them. But until the reindex finishes, I can't use them normally. That was enough to change my mind. It didn't take an obviously dangerous delete command. One ordinary rename took the entire directory tree offline. I've always kept Codex on 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀. After today, 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼 feels like a better default. I can approve higher access when a task needs it.

On file deletions. We’ve investigated a handful of reports where GPT-5.6 unexpectedly deleted files. What we have found is that this most commonly occurs when: - Full access mode is enabled and codex is run without sandboxing protections, including without auto review being enabled - The model attempts to override the $HOME env var to define a temporary directory. - The model makes an honest mistake and mistakenly deletes $HOME instead. This is of course not how we want the system to behave, even when a user operates the model in full-access mode without the safeguards of our sandbox or without using auto review which checks for these kinds of high risk actions and rejects them. We are taking steps to mitigate this risk including by updating the developer message, guiding more users towards safer permission modes, and adding additional harness safeguards. Even though this happens extremely rarely, we’ll share a detailed post-mortem in the coming days that goes into more details and what we are doing to minimize risks further.

Fable 5 is a revolutionary model. I just don't understand how it survives. When my usage limit ran out, I spent $500 in credits in 4 hours. The pricing is illogical No average person will pay this price. Enterprises won't either. They are already starting to adopt dirt cheap Chinese models in order to save on costs. GPT 5.6 is not quite as smart as Fable in some ways, but at least it's a part of the subscription and at least is reasonably priced. With API pricing I just don't know who is the persona Fable is right for. That's why I think Opus 5 comes in the next 2 weeks. With 5.6 being so good, Anthropic needs a competitor that matches its intelligence and pricing. A cheaper version of Fable being labeled Opus and priced at Opus levels is the only way they keep up. If they don't do this, I don't understand how OpenAI doesn't win both the consumer and enterprise markets in the next few weeks

@dangreenheck When are you going to bring any of your plugins over to real engines so that devs can actually use them for games that actually can make money?

Open seas are also getting some love! Got rid of all the fiddly sliders—now you just set the peak wavelength and the wave scales automatically adjust from short choppy waves to big rolling swells.

@BitPlanetGames Sounds like the platform is limiting its own ecosystem. If the only consistently profitable use case is restricted, developers lose incentive to build and the platform misses out on innovation.

One thing Apple consistently gets right is the little details. The animations that appear while scanning your Persona on Apple Vision Pro are incredibly polished and make the whole experience feel premium. It's details like these that make visionOS feel less like an experiment and more like the foundation of where spatial computing is headed. What's your favorite attention to detail moment in visionOS?

Hey @Naughty_Dog Quick question. Your parent company reportedly wants to phase out physical PlayStation games by January 1, 2028. Will we get Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet before then? I'm asking because I don't buy digital games. If it launches after that date, The Last of Us Part II will sadly be the last Naughty Dog game I'll ever play. I sincerely hope that's not the case.

You will 100% be able to one-shot a GTA-scale game by this time next year. It’ll cost a ridiculous amount, but it will be possible. There will be a creativity explosion unlike anything we’ve ever seen. Obviously, this assumes that we still have access to frontier models.

GPT-5.6-Sol one-shotted this voxel-based Manhattan. Just look at the precision... it's insane. It ran for almost a week, completely autonomously, to get the job done.

@Caxsandrar I love the fact that developers like myself can't release our games on the platform because the only use case that VR has consistently made money from is really an option on the platform.
