When Atomic Finance started building with DLCs in 2019, they were untested in production. We took something novel but elegant and proved it could survive the adversarial environment that is the Bitcoin network. $140M in volume later, we validated something important: DLCs work. The non-custodial path to Bitcoin-backed liquidity is narrowing. With @lava_xyz moving away from their DLC-based model, Bitcoiners have fewer options that truly preserve self-custody and transparency. Who’s still building for Bitcoiners? @debificom @firefish_io @LygosFinance @surge_credit (our effort) Others? If we want a future where Bitcoiners can access liquidity without giving up their keys, we have to build it ourselves.

1/ 🧵 DLC loans vs. money markets via Rollups: Bitcoin DLCs swung at rollups first, generally misrepresenting how rollups work. Now, rollups are swinging back with seemingly accurate but miss-leading statements because projecting on a different user archetype. TLDR- the potential customers really are different because the tech is.
