Japan’s doing something wild.. they just started human trials for a drug that could regrow your missing teeth naturally! It’s an antibody that blocks a protein (USAG-1) and basically wakes up the tooth buds you already have sitting dormant in your jaw. After it worked in mice and ferrets, they’re now testing safety in adults who are missing teeth. Phase 1 is underway! If everything goes well, we could ditch implants and dentures for good someday.

It is much easier to put subtitles, dubs, translations into regular English as that is used much more widely, rather than American. I'm sure some American tech people are working on American translations too but not yet

@SuspInkling @BaftyC @TheEbonyMaw It seems fair to discuss the emotions and morals behind red pressers who say their decision is fine because they will live, and that's all they care about.

I want to live in a world where this never happened, with either only Red Pressers or a world where Blue survived. To maximize the chances I live in one of those worlds, I would choose Red. You know, assuming the buttons are not lies, but in that moment, I have no control over the situation, so I refuse to second-guess. Either would be fine, though Blue "winning" would be quite turbulent. Red Pressers are people who did not make a critical judgment error against whatever demon creates this test. The only difference between Red and Blue is that Blue was proven to be susceptible to Pascal's Mugging. Emotional resonances you apply to exclusively Red or Blue are false because people on both sides exist in enough quantities to form a functional society if Red "wins." Afterward, we'll have to find whatever force created and forced this "test" on us and murder the fuck outta it. Finally, a proper Crusade after so much time, where we don't have to feel bad about murdering something.

I have opinions on the new red/blue button debate. I interpret it as a test of whether or not you are in a high trust or low trust environment. Choosing the red button guarantees your own safety but also ensures people will die because there is invariably going to be people who will vote blue for whatever reason. But choosing the blue button is only a viable option IF you are in a high trust environment. The blue/red button question, in my opinion, is more of a question of “do you trust the group you’re in?” Pure altruism & trust vs. guaranteed self-preservation So it depends on the group. All other things being equal, I don’t particularly want blue voters to die, so I’d ideally vote blue. But I’m not going to stake my life on that if the group I’m in is particularly untrustworthy. So again… it depends on the group. If I was in a situation where all the other voters were my closest friends & family, obviously I would choose blue. But if I’m in a group of people who don’t know each other and are openly hostile to each other, I am pressing red.

@DrSammyD @TheEbonyMaw Why do you want to be the blue that prevents the red from winning? Rather than just playing a very small role in the overarching group? It is by many people doing small things that adds up to big good overall, each person doesn't need to do a great thing for it to have meaning.

@TheEbonyMaw You have a better chance of picking the exact right 80 atoms in the solar system for a cosmic power ball than your press of blue preventing red from winning. No human has ever even observed an event that unlikely. Your innumeracy doesn’t make you noble.

@A_Sober_Drunk @TheEbonyMaw @SladeTheGuy Everyone pressing red is the best outcome for sure but not everyone would press red, so anyone who pressed red did so knowing others would die, I don't see how that's the moral choice at all. Seems like a lot of red lying that everyone would choose the same, denying blame

@TheEbonyMaw @SladeTheGuy If everybody presses red everybody lives it is the dumbest question ever asked. The only thing this illustrates is whether or not someone will lie to your face in an attempt to appear a better moral person. The reality is the moral choice is red for everyone.

@rickhfox @TheEbonyMaw Oh I see so you aren't actually basing it on reality and how others would actually act. Then in either scenario you could just say everyone chooses either button and we would all be fine.

@TheEbonyMaw My perspective is that there is no downside to everyone pushing red. Only people who feel a need to virtue signal unnecessarily would have an incentive to push blue. I do not want those people to die but if they choose to it’s not my decision. Push red.

Disrespectfully, a lot of guys refuse to accept the simple fact that they could easily change their whole situation regarding women if they didn’t assume it to be a lost cause Like there’s not enough Quasimodos out there to be acting like this
