Equity Group FY2025 Performance overview: Equity Group has reported strong FY2025 results. The group's total operating income (core banking business) rose 12.3% to KES 217.7 billion supported by a 16.7% increase in net interest income to KES 126.9 billion and 6.7% increase in non interest income to KES 80.8B. The group's profit after tax rose 54.6% to KES 75.5 billion in FY2025 from KES 48.8 billion in 2024 on the back of increased total operating income/revenue. Profit After Tax attributable to owners of the company (excluding NCI) grew by 54.6% to KES 72 billion. Shareholder value and dividends: The Group improved shareholders' value significantly with EPS increasing by 54.5% to KES 19.07 per share in FY2025 from KES 12.34 per share the previous year. The board proposed a final dividend of KES 5.75 for FY2025, up 35.3% from KES 4.25 in FY2024. This represents a dividend payout ratio of 30.2% in FY2025 lower than 34.5% in FY2025. This year, the Equity group will be paying a record dividend of KES 21.7 billion, the highest in the history of the group reflecting strong earnings growth. The group is firing on all cylinders - recorded growth across all business segments. Regional performance: Equity Group's regional subsidiaries are now bigger than Equity Bank Kenya. The regional subsidiaries contributed revenue of KES 111B out of the group's revenue of KES 219.5 billion representing a contribution of 51%. Subsidiaries outside Kenya contributed Profit Before Tax of KES 46.7B out of the group's PBT of KES 90.7B representing a 51.5% of the group's PBT. Equity Bank Kenya reported a PAT of KES 39.2 billion - it contributes to the 100% of the dividends distributed to shareholders. Equity Bank DRC has the highest ROE of 29.5% followed by Equity Bank Rwanda with a ROE of 28.9%. Balance sheet growth and asset quality: The group's total assets expanded by 9.2% to KES 1.97 Trillion supported by the group's continued regional expansion. The group's net loans and advances to customers increased by 7.7% to KES 882.5 billion while customer deposits increased by 4.2% to KES 1.46 trillion. Shareholders' Equity (excluding NCI) grew by 32.4% to KES 292.9B signaling strong investors confidence in Equity Group. The bank has the highest ROE of 25% and I expect it to drive the share above book value. Asset quality also improved during the year with NPL ratio declining to 11.3% in FY2025 from 13.6% in FY2024. Gross NPLs fell by KES 11.9B to KES 110.1B in FY2025. Strategy and Outlook: Dr James Mwangi said that they want to be in 15 countries by 2030. With regional operations now contributing 51% of the group's revenue and profits, the group is keen on expanding it's regional footprint across 15 countries in Africa. Equity Group has a dividend payout of 30.2% translating to KES 21.7B in FY2025 while retaining earnings amounting to KES 50.26B. Investment thesis: In my view, Equity is a good buy and hold long term considering that regional subsidiaries are now contributing more revenue and PAT to the Group than the Kenyan business, future profitability growth and possible dividend payout ratio of 50% in the near future. If Equity Group adopted 50% payout ratio, it implies a FY2025 DPS of KES 9.54 per share. At the current price of KES 79, it implies a dividend yield of 12.1%. With a consistent dividend policy of 50%, Equity could trade above KES 155 (2x book value). Equity would be trading at a premium valuation similar to StanChart and ABSA. However, Equity has a dividend policy of 30% - 50%. Valuation view: Based on these FY2025 results, I have re-rated Equity's valuation upwards to KES 93.23 (1.20x book value). Book value stands at KES 77.69 per share (uses shareholders' equity attributable to owners of the company). If you re-rate Equity to 1.10x book value it implies a fair value estimate of KES 85.46. I have obtained a valuation range of KES 85.46 to KES 93.23. @NSE_Investors

@MakennaJelani UON's school of pharmacy is also doing something simillar albeit worse. Withholding results for a whole pharmacy class of 88 students. Why you ask? Because the school has not paid lecturers their bonuses for a while now. It has been almost 5 months now of PR and depression

Mimi hupenda kuongelesha vijana; This weekend for the third time I’ll set up a 2 hour space on how to land your remote gig (freelancing)in your line of profession; education, healthcare, tech etc watu waache hasira. I may not have specifics for the different fields but I definitely have pointers. You’ll realize hata unaezamake $1000 a day either from contracts or through one time gigs. I’ll also try to bring two or three people who thrive on the WiFi economy one focusing on Europe and the other one in Australia if I manage to get them to paint a bigger perspective. Track my two previous spaces on the same subject so that you have an idea,I don’t gate keep you just don’t want to be patient and dive in. I have been doing this for 12 years surely $6,000 a month shouldn’t make you want to puke blood and call your witches in the village for me that’s normal money🤣🤣. Those who know this guru called Walter Akolo he introduced me to Freelancing in 2012 and sent me this book around the same period, now imagine where he is right now: Google him,he’s one of the pioneers of freelancing in Kenya,I hope I can trace him for this space as well. If you need that book drop your email I’ll send it your way. You don’t need to con anyone to make money online otherwise for 12 years I’d be dead somewhere, there’s a lot of ways to make legit money in the freelancing/remote world.
