@Safaricom_Care is there a reason or any possibility one can use up 10 GB in in 10 minutes? I called customer care and I was informed my data was used up. It’s never happened in all the years I have used my lines. What’s really going on lately with your billing? Your data experience has become extremely expensive and extremely unsatisfactory. @SafaricomPLC

@Ohta_Ryota Because it’s possible to run an issue based campaign and win. Even his opponents who poured millions even at polling stations can’t cry themselves to sleep tonight. His silent strategy also worked in his favour, as even the younger bar largely rallied in his favour - silently.

@Asamoh_ @StateHouseKenya @WilliamsRuto @etadv He only confers the title as they sign. The SC title is issued by the SC C’tee of LSK, then they go sign. Just the same way advocates go through KSL to get qualification as advocates, then admission as advocates and signing of the roll is done by the CJ

So advocates who were conferred SC title are at @StateHouseKenya signing the rolls before President @WilliamsRuto . How comes they are not rejecting the roles ? What has changed ? Has the president become an angel today ? Asking my friend @etadv

President @WilliamsRuto, Kenyans are watching MAU – RIRONI with a level of clarity your handlers didn’t anticipate. You cancelled a KSh 155B French-funded project that Uhuru Kenyatta had already negotiated and signed. Your government paid a KSh 7B penalty for that cancellation. And today, you are celebrating the same project being revived under China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) at about KSh 200B. So let me ask you directly, without blinking: What exactly made 155B “too expensive” but 200B suddenly acceptable? What is patriotic about paying billions in penalties only to approve a pricier version of the same project? Why was the French deal “bad” only until a Chinese state firm took it over at a higher cost? And most importantly: Why are you forcing @NSSF_ke the pension fund of ordinary workers to bankroll this inflated project? Retirees already struggle to access their own savings. Audits repeatedly highlight mismanagement and unexplained losses. Yet you are pushing NSSF toward financing mega-projects that Parliament never approved and workers never consented to. President Ruto, this is not leadership. This is coercion disguised as reform. NSSF is not your campaign chest. It is not a state ATM. It is not a fallback plan for government overspending. And when you triple NSSF deductions, then divert workers’ money into expensive deals that were once cheaper you cannot pretend this is “for the people.” Kenyans deserve answers. Not tweets, not slogans, not media propaganda answers. The Mau–Rironi saga is no longer about a road. It is about a pattern a government choosing political ego over economic sense, secrecy over transparency, and pension money over donor agreements. In 2021, Kenya secured a 155B French donor-funded deal for Mau–Rironi. In 2022, the new administration cancelled it and triggered a 7B penalty. In 2025, the same project reappeared under CCCC/CRBC of China, now priced at about 200B nearly 50B more than the original foreign-funded arrangement. And as if that is not enough, the government now plans to force NSSF to finance the project, turning workers’ retirement savings into a pool for megaproject spending. This raises urgent national questions: Why was a cheaper, donor-funded project replaced with a more expensive one? Why are workers being burdened with higher NSSF deductions only for their savings to be used as government capital? Why is a pension fund with repeated audit queries being positioned as the financier of billion-shilling infrastructure? And why does the project timeline conveniently land just before the next general election? This is not economic policy this is political engineering. This is not development this is desperation dressed as progress. And this is not protecting workers this is using workers. Kenyans have every right to demand clarity. Every right to demand transparency. Every right to ask why public finances are being bent around political timelines. A nation cannot be built by draining the future of its workers. A government cannot call itself accountable while making its decisions in the shadows. The truth is simple: Pension money belongs to the people not the presidency. And any administration that forgets that truth must be reminded by the citizens themselves.

When I started this public debt audit, I never imagined how much I’d uncover about Kenya’s financial system. The grand looting scheme began with the unconstitutional amendment of the Public Finance Management Act in 2014. This amendement, passed without Senate involvement in violation of Article 110, gave unchecked powers to open foreign accounts and engage in cross-border loan transactions without proper oversight. Since then, billions have been borrowed through off-budget loans; loans that never passed through Parliament for approval, borrowed unconstitutionally and not tied to any development projects, as the law demands. These secret loans bypass scrutiny, accountability, and transparency, leaving Kenyans in the dark about our true debt position, while the burden quietly grows. I’ve compiled a 22-page public summary of my petition, shared through the link below. This is to expose what is really happening behind the scenes, which laws have been violated, why we went to court and why urgent reform is necessary and a matter of national survival. Use this summary. Share it. Discuss it. Let it enlighten your networks. Let is spark conversations leading to a deeper national conversation. The truth about Kenya’s debt crisis can no longer stay hidden. This is about safeguarding Kenya’s future. We’re building a new era of transparency together, demanding honesty and accountability in leadership, for the good of every Kenyan. #SeraSiSura #ReKe

A Kenyan has been abducted in Tanzania. Again. Family has confirmed that Mwabili Mwagodi, who is a Kenyan activist and was vocal against church donations, was abducted in Tanzania on Wednesday. It seems @SuluhuSamia and her government are working round the clock to target Kenyan activists. #FreeMwabiliMwagodi

Kenya has grown steadily and sustained a largely peaceful democracy. But now the picture is looking bleak, as people grow discontented and vent their anger in the streets. The country’s leader must change tack econ.trib.al/kncXKvy?taid=3… Photo: Imago

I led the Council of the @LawSocietyofKe for a meeting with the @IG_NPS of the @NPSOfficial_KE to address the rising cases of harassment and intimidation of advocates in their line of duty. We highlighted instances where advocates have been unfairly victimized by officers for representing their clients, including threats, obstruction, and, in extreme instances, acts of aggression. We sought the IG's intervention towards ensuring non-interference, enforcing disciplinary action against officers who undermine, interfere with or violate the work and rights of advocates, and incorporation of legal and ethical standards in police training. We offered to support the service through enriching their training and sensitisation needs by providing expertise on legal standards that must be upheld, and spearheading stalled pro-community projects such as the establishment of gender desks within police stations. We are hopeful that this engagement will secure the legal practice space and prevent infractions against our members in their service to the public.

THE LAVINGTON SDA CHURCH AND THE ALLIANCE GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL HAVE A JOINT STATEMENT IN TODAY'S NATION. The story goes like this. Joyce Ongombe, a UoN-Kikuyu campus-trained high school teacher who specialized in Mathematics and Accounting, taught for a short time before opting to venture into business. Joyce was married to George Ooko a former mathematics teacher at Alliance Girls High School, and later Hillcrest International School at the time of his death. In April 2010, Joyce's husband George, and his two children Angela (4) and John (2), while driving from Migori to Nairobi were swept away by the infamous Narok flash floods, leaving Joyce with their three months old Georgina. Barely eight months after the loss of her husband and two children, Joyce lost her father and mother three days apart, burying them the same day only months following the burial of her husband and two children. Having lost all her immediate family, the bond between Joyce and her dear daughter Georgina became stronger. Joyce found family in a community of believers at Lavington Seventh Day Adventist Church who walked with her during this difficult time of grief, she would later become an active deaconess in the church. She raised her daughter Georgina in the church to become a brilliant, active pathfinder involved in various church activities including drama and music. Georgina would later pass her primary national examinations with flying colors and distinction earning her a place in one of the most coveted and prestigious high school in Kenya - Alliance Girls High School, where her late father once taught mathematics. With her Christian grounding, leadership skills at a young age, and rising academic star, Georgina was set for great things - a possible future leader. But as fate would have it, calamity struck again! During the last Christmas festivities, Joyce and her daughter Georgina went to Mombasa for a crossover vacation, where they booked an apartment. Sadly, while preparing breakfast on 31 December 2024, the water boiler is reported to have exploded, throwing them to the ground and burning them severely! Joyce suffered 53% burns, and the little girl burn was 60%. They were rushed to Premier Hospital in Nyali, and later air evacuated on 1st January to Kenyatta National Hospital Burns Unit in Nairobi. A team of doctors and plastic surgeons began to administer treatment. Unfortunately, Georgina succumbed to her injuries two weeks later on 14 January 2025, and in an instant, Joyce's world crumbled! The pain and the loss have been unbearable. Georgina was buried on 11 April 2025 in Kakrao Village-Migori County, side by side next to her late father and two siblings. Joyce remains hospitalized with excruciating pain, following the prolonged hospitalization and the nature of the burns suffered, significant resources have been used yet her recovery is far from over. To fully heal, Joyce is currently receiving specialized treatment at FORTIS Hospital in New Delhi, India, with an immediate need of Ksh. 7 million to cover her current treatment costs and possibly change the traction of her healing. A major fundraising has been planned for tomorrow, Thursday 5th June 2025 from 5pm at Nairobi Central SDA Church, off Milimani Road. Those who will not make it to support Joyce can extend their compassion using the Medical Fund Paybill number: PAYBIL: 5480284 A/C: Your Name The organizers cannot thank you enough.
