The thing about decolonization is, every colony in Africa was unique: the white population was small or large, transient or settled; were schools built; was native labor exploited; etc. Britain tailored independence plans to each specific case—yet the result was always the same.

@BlindSpotsMag @CoreyWriting Actually reparations to descendants past one generation is rare. For the Japanese reparations, descendants of anyone who passed prior to the bill were not eligible. The Holocaust reparations also had limitations. Which is why going back multiple generations for slavery is absurd

Keep in mind slaves were initially given reparations before Johnson reversed the land settlements. Asking for restitution isn’t some woke thing, it’s standard human procedure after grave injustice.

People like to pretend blacks are crazy for asking for reparations while the Polish routinely crash out over more reparations for WW2 (they’re demanding 1.3 trillion). Asking for restitution after being wronged is about as human as it gets.

The Pan-Africanist movement is becoming increasingly emotional and decreasingly logical. Hating the very systems that keep the world intact, the last lifelines preventing society from going fully rogue, isn't progressive, it's a recipe for chaos. It is time to stop unnecessarily romanticizing failed stunts and start applying logic. We need a movement built on reality, not just raw emotion and misplaced resentment. It's good to love Africa and support Africa without throwing away common sense.
