@KeiferStreet @MAGAVoice Bullshit! If that were the case gas stations would take just as long to have them rise because of "inventory"... they raise prices $0.50-$0.60 in one day, but take a week to come back down! Both ends are about making more $$! Fast going up and slow coming down.

The reason they don’t drop their prices immediately is ‘inventory on hand’. If a gas station owner pays $4/gal for 10,000 of gas in one delivery to fill up their tank, but then the price of gas drops to $3.80 the next day, what would happen if they immediately dropped their prices to match? They’d lose $0.20/gal for that 10,000 of gas they already have and paid for at the higher price. The price dropping will only reduce their cost on their next delivery, THEN they can drop their prices, but not before - hence the lag.
