$MSFT #MSFT Filled the gap at $367.77. This has now retraced almost the entire move from last April. Pretty nuts.

Not really. If she took $100k over multiple years she’d be at the same rate as her eventual RMDs. Conversions make less sense the closer one gets to retirement. Using proceeds of the conversion defeats the purpose. Eg: $100k at $25% tax leaves $75k meaning one needs a 33% return to break even. Otherwise, she’d eat away her non retirement savings and potentially be forced to tap the retirement funds early which would defeat the purpose of the Conversion.

@BobSnowdude @KurtSupeCPA I think the point is that the income tax rate for conversions could have been lower by managing their timing in coordination with annual income expectations.

Kurt Supe, CPA & Retirement Planner
She'd had the same advisor for 18 years. Good guy. Called on her birthday. Sent Christmas cards. Never once mentioned Roth conversions. Never once discussed her RMD exposure. Never once coordinated with her CPA. She retired with $1.6M in a traditional IRA. At 73, RMDs kicked in. $60K/year she was forced to take — whether she needed it or not. Combined with Social Security and other income: 22% bracket. Her Medicare premiums jumped. In 18 years, her advisor and her CPA had never spoken. Two professionals managing the same money. Never in the same room. She's paying $14,000/year more in taxes than she needed to. For the rest of her retirement. Because investment management and tax planning never talked to each other. Managing your investments is not the same as managing your retirement. Hypothetical example. Not personalized financial or tax advice.

At a hearing today on college sports, I asked a former top women's college basketball player what it felt like to work so hard to become expert at her craft, just to have her industry come to Congress to artificially suppress her compensation.

Good afternoon. This is your daily reminder that Trump just lifted sanctions on Iran to give them $14 BILLION to hep fund their war against us. In other words, your daily reminder that this is probably the dumbest war of all time.

The five-second epistemology of Mama’s wrong again. Well folks, Mama’s wrong again. BlackRock’s Larry Fink done gone and said years of above $100 closer to $150 oil if Iran remains a threat after the bombing stops. If Iran remains a threat. If. The way you say if the sun also rises. Mama. Iran is creating a generation of Jake Barnes. That’s the plan. Jalili said it. Mojtaba’s man. The enemy must be made to regret the aggression. Not deter future aggression. Regret this one. پشیمان. The theological word. Make them wish they never started. And you make them wish they never started by sending their boys home the way Hemingway sent Jake Barnes home. Broken in the place that doesn’t heal. The troops whose hands Hegseth untied coming home with untied everything else. The greatest military in the history of the world sent to a 600,000 square mile mountain fortress that said come closer and the soldiers came closer and the mountain did what mountains do to soldiers and the soldiers come home and the regret is the generation. The regret is the VA. The regret is the hat from the war at Walmart. The regret is the communities that sent their kids and got back Jake Barnes. That’s how you make an empire regret. You don’t defeat the empire. You make the empire’s mothers regret. You make the empire’s wives regret. You make the empire’s towns regret. Iran isn’t fighting for deterrence. Iran is fighting for regret. Finish the job. The executives say finish the job. Finish it. The way the job finished Jake Barnes. The way the job finished a generation of boys in Vietnam who came home and couldn’t sleep. The way the job finished a generation in Iraq who came home and couldn’t stop seeing. Finish the job. The job finishes the soldiers. The soldiers don’t finish the job. The job comes home with them. The job sits in the VA. The job can’t fuck. The job can’t sleep. The job is finished and the Strait is still closed and the mountain is still firing and another Jake Barnes is being created right now in Isfahan while Mama says finish it. Jalili says the same thing. Finish it. Different meaning. Jalili’s finish is the regret. Mama’s finish is the job. The job creates the regret. The regret is the finish. Years of above $100 closer to $150. Mama. Dubai physical hit $166 last week. Mama’s closer to $150 is further from $166. The kitchen said $200 on Day 3. The IRGC named $200 on Day 1. The deli counter. Goldman holds a ticket. Morgan Stanley holds a ticket. Citi holds a ticket. BlackRock holds a ticket. The IRGC is still behind the counter. Mama brought friends. None of them can read the ticket because the ticket is in Farsi and they don’t teach Farsi at the conference where Mama says if. A probably stark and steep recession. Probably. Ghalibaf da Gangsta asked if they can print gas molecules. The Philippines declared a national energy emergency. Slovenia is rationing. The 20-year at 5%. And Mama says probably. The sun also rises Mama. And when it rises it rises on a generation of Jake Barnes sitting in cafes they can’t afford because oil is at $150 and the war Mama said to finish finished them instead. Some Mama. Some if. Some regret. Some empire. Day 26.

BlackRock's Larry Fink: If Iran remains a threat after the bombing stops, there could be "years of above $100, closer to $150 oil, which has profound implications in the economy" and an outcome of "a probably stark and steep recession." (1/2) bbc.com/news/articles/…

@jimiuorio I think Tuberville’s on to something here. Kid has a bad practice, gets coached tough then bails for another team, repeat, repeat. These “adults” will blow the cash as they never grow up and become a future problem instead of a future pillar of a community.

Against…our opinion on whether or not NIL or the transfer portal is going to “ruin” college sports is irrelevant. These adults have a right to play where they want…the previous system was indentured servitude…and yes it pains me that it will destroy college sports..
Tommy Tuberville@CoachForGov

The transfer portal has screwed up college sports. My bill is simple: you get 5 consecutive years to play 5 seasons and you get 1 transfer. After that, if you transfer again, you sit out a year. This will fix 80% of the issues in NIL today.

If Cuba transitions toward much freer markets, it’s going to be devastating for Puerto Rico’s economy. Cuba will start off less expensive, more exotic, and closer.
