@JasonFitz1 If cross training is part of the mix, I think 30 miles could suffice for an experienced athlete.

A new client just told me, "Just finished my Chicago training block where I peaked at 35 miles/week, but I felt undertrained for the race." What do you think is a minimum mileage level to not feel "undertrained" for a 26.2 mile race?

@nsim897 @Tyler_T15 Again they lost by 4 points on the road. Do you feel Iowa is more talented than Iowa State? Indicating he was badly outcoached implies you expected Iowa to win the game fairly easily

@BoleynD @Tyler_T15 Explain the last 26 seconds? To choose to not start fouling knowing damn well you’re gonna have to throw a full court heap to win? Dude drew a foul with 9 seconds left on the clock with 4 seconds left on the shot clock. Just dumb. Start fouling. He gave them 0 hope with that.

Ben McCollum not buying into a moral victory narrative after Iowa's loss to Iowa State: “I thought we played good. But I like to win. I don’t know. I’m just not into the other stuff. I don’t know. I’m a process guy at heart. So I understand the process piece. I understand that you’ve got to keep getting better. Don’t let the highs get too high and the lows get too low. But it was a two-point the game. You want to win. Just win.”

@nsim897 @Tyler_T15 How was he badly out coached? Does Iowa have a more talented roster in your opinion. Team lost by 4 points on the road

@puttedx23 @Toohey_sp If you’re going to focus on one thing focus on maximal effort with complete recovery between each movement. That’s what builds power. Completely useless to be hopping around at 75% effort

In plyometrics, quality over quantity is everything. Sloppy, rushed jumps, bounds, and hops only create the illusion of work while significantly raising soft tissue risk. Mindless Plyometrics are just as common and detrimental as mindless conditioning with youth athletes.

@ScottDochterman As long as a school's NIL collective uses a competitive amount of money, I don't think that a school from a conference with a bigger media deal is necessarily in a better spot. But in the big 10 you can possibly go 9-3 and get in the CFP. Virtually no chance of that in the big 12

One side earns $50 million more from its conference and has a greater chance of an at-large CFP bid. One side has a clearer path to the CFP and doesn't have five top-15 teams in its league. In the new CFB era, is it better to be Iowa or Iowa State? nytimes.com/athletic/65931…

@hansonsrun Training age is more important than grade! There are exceptions but it is always best to train with caution-especially runners with zero experience.Doesn't matter if they are talented and can stay with the experienced group, the "over" mileage will catch up and result in injuries.

Coaches This is a tough one. A talented in coming freshman with no background in the sport, should train with the same volume as every other beginner. Paces should be different but not mileage. Just because they can doesn’t mean they should. Development is always the goal.

@stevemagness Getting faster definitely equals being more in tune with your body. Tech advancements hit full force in 2020 yet runners continue to get significantly faster year over year. GPS watches provide important metrics

@BoleynD Getting faster does not equal more in tune with your body. Especially when we've had a massive external influence in tech that has propelled times.

With the rise of GPS watches and other gadgets, we're slowly losing the ability to listen to our body. Understanding the feedback your body is giving you and how to lock into a rhythm based on that feedback alone is a valuable skill.
