Salmon have returned to Still Creek in Vancouver! 🌊 Still Creek is an urban watercourse with a sensitive ecosystem. We encourage people and their pets to stay above the top of the bank when viewing, and to please not enter the creek.

Remarkable that Angus Reid shared a disinformation video re: church arsons and engaged in residential school denialism - and defended it in the same week as Orange Shirt Day - and no media outlets reported the story. He's deleted his account, but let me connect the dots 🧵

81% of net job creation in British Columbia in the last two years has been public sector. The rapid growth of government under the NDP skews monthly job numbers, masking an anemic private sector on life support. This is not a healthy economy. #bcpoli

Maybe while people are trapped at Burning Man is a good time to share some of the disturbingly capitalist hellscape stuff I witness each year from the supposedly non-consumption-based event. Short 🧵 from a Tahoe local/Reno shopper who has seen some things…

I have no memory of the A-Frame home, which is the best of all of them. As designers, we should have more of these conversations about toys, the life it reflects, and the life it tries to project back on to us. nytimes.com/interactive/20…

Day 3 of computer failures + frustrations. If anyone knows how to turn a desktop iMac w/hard drive failure into a simple monitor, pls DM. Apple has cheerfully told me that my 2.5 yr old + expensive computer is "ready to be recycled!" But why recycle if the monitor remains useful?

So many modernist designers represented by MillerKnoll espoused social ideals: democratic design(Eames), design for humanity(Bertoia), respect/awareness(Saarinen). I can't help but think they would be disappointed with their work being perceived as icons of wealth + privilege
