@superduperpen15 @_QuickFang @FiredUpCoug ☝️☝️HOA president that likes to dictate how others live..... Not where I live. There are only HOAs or out in the country and I can't do the country thing for a few more years....

My neighbor’s two large dogs are pooping/peeing in my yard, and the urine is killing patches of our grass. We’ve already talked to their owner about it, but nothing has changed. Has anyone dealt with this successfully? Any advice to keep the dogs from doing this? Not trying to start a neighbor war, or do anything that will harm the dogs, I just trying to protect our lawn and stop cleaning up after dogs that aren’t ours.

@_QuickFang @FiredUpCoug Because HOAs exist and someone made that decision that affects another's property. Our founding fathers are rolling in their graves

@Manhattva Meh. I'm not saying I don't have an absolute testimony of the WOW, but this feels like the type of article where the "scientists" state something like "A glass of wine every night is good for you" when we all know that's nonsense.

There wasn’t a dry eye in our chapel this morning. A young man I’ve had the honor of teaching in mission preparation class for the past few months gave his mission farewell talk today. He bore testimony of the Savior’s love. Then, as he began to speak about eternal families, his voice broke and tears filled his eyes. I knew why. A few months ago, his father, whom he dearly loves, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. This young man bravely fought through his tears as he spoke of sleepless nights spent on his knees, pleading with the Lord for understanding. He testified of the peace he felt as the Spirit comforted him. In just a few days, he will leave for two years to teach, serve, and uplift strangers far from home, not knowing whether his dad will be there to greet him when he returns. I could hardly see the words on the page as we sang the closing hymn, “I Know That My Redeemer Lives.” As I sang, I thought of this brave young man pouring out his soul to the Lord, asking Him to take away the bitter cup of his father’s illness. These words took on new meaning: “He lives to comfort me when faint. He lives to hear my soul’s complaint. He lives to silence all my fears. He lives to wipe away my tears.” I’ve read many times on X that missions for LDS youth are vacations, or rewards, or easy rites of passage. They are not. They are life-changing sacrifices. And few will sacrifice more in serving their Savior than this valiant young man, who is choosing faith over fear.

2010. I was living in Salt Lake City, Utah. Around 20 years old. You could still rent a nice house in a decent neighborhood for $1000 a month. You could go out to a bar and make friends. You could play pick up basketball at Liberty Park with only 1 crackhead on the court. There was no AI. Mountain biking was respected as a manly, adventurous endeavor. Your Mormon landlady was trying to hook you up with the Japanese exchange student. The park service didn't arrest you for starting a bonfire on antelope island. You could pull as many fish as you wanted out of Utah Lake without a license. The Good Times.

@blueyandbandit @DevinD33 Agreed. But when one tries to be a good neighbor, but the other person assumes they are only doing it because they are the "project" there's not much to do.

A former BYU player was walking his dog a couple of years ago I was exec secretary and he stopped and asked me what was being said about him and his family. I hadn't heard anything and told him that. He said ever since he stopped going to church people have been weird towards him and won't even say hi or acknowledge him or his wife. I was telling a friend (very active) about this former BYU player and his response was well you left the "community" why would you expect people to say hi to you. My jaw dropped I couldn't believe that people actually believe if your neighbor isn't active or part of the "community" you shouldn't say hi and be friendly. The culture is so broken and sad.

1. It’s morally wrong to willfully violate the law. 2. Speeding is a violation of the law. Conclusion: Willfully speeding is morally wrong. Thoughts?

Being a Counselor in the Bishopric is pretty great. It's the most fun I've had since my mission. I get to work with all the youth. I get to help make sure sacrament meetings are uplifting. I get to help with decisions on callings to help great people be in great callings for them. I get to help make sure activities are awesome. But don't have to deal with whatever the Bishop has to deal with. It's as involved as I've been able to be since the mission. Lots of fun.

I don't want the headstone. I didn't slave away all these years to have everything go to Redwood memorial estates. I want it to go to my kids. Dig a hole, dump ashes in and plant tree on top. That's my marker. Life from death. Tell me a more beautiful representation of eternal life.

Can we end the stigma around cremation among church members. The handbook allows it. You will still be reserected. An average funeral costs $20k, cremation $2k. I prefer for my kids to have more inheritance. If you really need some physical location to visit that reminds you of me after I am gone then spread my ashes somewhere cool and visit that.

3 things that caught my attention today at the Utes scrimmage: 1) There’s an excitement within the culture at Utah that’s infectious. Makes you WANT to be there and be a part of it 2) The Poly coaches mixing (kava) on the practice field after the scrimmage tells me a lot about how they’re given the freedom to be themselves. Loved seeing that. 3) The 2 OL coaches Jordan Gross and Alex Gerke both told me as they were chuckling, “we have so much fun doing this and being here. We’re laughing every day”.

The "free" piano is one of the most elegant negative-value assets in the American economy. An upright piano weighs 400-900 lbs. Moving one costs $200-$600. Tuning after a move runs $100-$300. Annual tuning to keep it playable is another $100-$200. And if the thing breaks or you change your mind, disposal costs $250-$550 for a junk removal crew to haul it out. So the true cost of a "free" piano in year one is $300-$900 before you play a single note. Over five years with annual tuning you're looking at $800-$1,900 all-in on an instrument that depreciates to $0 the second it goes out of tune and nobody in the house plays. The reason every listing says "must pick up" is because the seller ran this exact math in reverse. Hiring movers to deliver it costs more than the piano is worth. Paying for disposal costs more than the piano is worth. Listing it for free and making YOU absorb the moving cost is the cheapest way to get a 700-lb object out of a living room. The piano is free because the disposal cost is the real price, and you're the one paying it.

Here's an easy example of No One Sits Alone. We have a homeless guy that gets brought to our ward every Sunday. His favorite drink is Mountain Dew. I bring him an ice cold Mt. Dew every Sunday. Sometimes he breaks down in tears when I hand it to him. Not many people are nice to him because of station in life. It's a simple act that no one notices. ....also it's awesome watching a grown man drink a Mountain Dew in Sacrament meeting. #GeneralConference

I meant the elites and politicians that are leading us into these wars might make different choices if it was their children. It was hard for me to be angry and talk at the same time. I am thankful for to our troops who serve and are far braver than me. And also wtf do i know.

✨I have lost 150 lbs!✨ September 2023 I made a goal for myself. I'm tenacious, but this one area of my life crippled me with fear. So, I went all in. I changed how I ate (no sugar, no bread, no processed food) and I walked. Fear kept me from the gym for a long time, but I feel stronger than ever by going. Still working on that original goal - I'll get there. 💪🏼🤍 Many people have inspired and supported me through example, encouragement and kind words, and I will ALWAYS be grateful. Timeline: 9/2023 - 1/2025 100lbs lost 1/2025 - 4/2026 50lbs lost If I can do this, Anyone can.🫶🏼 #weightlossjourney #weightloss #pcos #gymlife #gymtime #weightlifting #fitnessgoals
