In 2006, Anti Grid Lock Lanes were introduced around Los Angeles to free up the flow of traffic for congested areas during rush hour. LAMC 80.70 For 18 years, these lanes created excellent traffic flows during rush hour especially as traffic has greatly increased during the prior 18 years, until 2024 when @LACity and @MayorOfLA decided that Bus Lanes would be more effective for busses that pass by every 15-20mins. Don’t even get me started on bicycles riding amongst dangerous rush our traffic on our dark streets that have almost no operational lighting.. It’s a recipe for disaster. If someone dies in these bike lanes, we will hold the city responsible. Meanwhile the lights on the Orange Line bike path from North Hollywood to Chatsworth have been inoperative for over 2 years, and the entire bike path is dark. All of this is incomprehensible for the most expensive city in America, and that someone would make such a stupid change to a Anti Grid Lock system that worked exceptionally for 18 years and did exactly what it was designed to do. For clarity, none of these 1,000+ lights have been fixed. I’ve reported them over and over, but nothing. I’ve come to X to post and tag every person, and still nothing. While these council members fill their pockets with six figure salaries, our streets remain dark and dangerous, full of potholes. I invite any of them (YOU) to come for a drive with me at night, I’ll show them at least 1,000 inoperative street lights and 50 potholes. Also, @MayorOfLA’s (@KarenBassLA) official helpdesk email has not worked for over 2 years. Each email submitted gets bounced back. I’ve mentioned this dozens of times. Let’s get this fixed ya?
