I have had three episodes recently of reconnecting with family after the tense years post-Covid. My sense is there is a quiet recognition I was wronged - and that my objections at the time were not crazy. It is progress, and healing. A fresh peace has come into my personal world.

Today in Everett, I signed 7 bills to address the affordable housing crisis in our state — bills like HB 1345 to expand ADUs to rural communities, HB 2418 to reduce costly permitting delays, and HB 2266 to build more permanent supportive housing. We need to keep attacking this problem, streamlining processes, making it easier to build more housing, and making more investments. Thanks to elected officials for their hard work, especially Lieutenant Governor Denny Heck.
