If I had Elon's money I would solve world hunger instantly.😡 Sent from a device purchased with with a sum of money that could have been used to feed an Ethiopian family for a year, but wasn't, because my generosity is purely hypothetical.

@MainstreamViews Would the same thing happen if someone said “I don’t want to work for a gay person” or “I don’t want to work for a woman” etc.

Trump did this. You can’t find a ticket for a game in Canada. They can give them away fast enough in the U.S.

Most people don’t need another productivity hack. They need a 20-minute walk. No notifications. No meetings. No screens. Just sunlight, movement & enough silence for your nervous system to remember what calm feels like.

The older I get, the more I realize that optimism is a competitive advantage. Not blind positivity. The belief that problems can be solved. That things can improve. That your actions matter. People who believe a better future is possible are the ones who create it.

If someone asked you today why you live differently — what would you say? There's a reason you don't fall apart the way everyone else does. A reason you can show up with peace in the middle of chaos. Forgiveness when you've been wronged. Hope when the situation says there's nothing to hope for. That's not personality. That's not positivity. That's Jesus. And the people in your life — at work, home, in your everyday, they're noticing something they can't quite explain. One day they're going to ask you about it. Be ready to tell them why.

These right-wing influencers jabber about Homer and Ovid, but in their daily lives, they know nothing about culture. They spend their hours glued to Tucker Carlson compilation videos and TikToks on seed oils. But because I'm an actual intellectual, not a MAGA wannabe, I have Proust cradled in my lap right now. Have I read it? Not yet. But I own it; I fondle it; I take trips with it to Whole Foods to buy Thai Curry Cashews. And when I get back, I'm ordering every book on The Guardian list, printed by a womyn-sourced Marxist publishing collective, and I will line them up on my Restoration Hardware Oslo Shelving (Aged Brown Oak veneer) where they will gather dust and admiring gazes from DoorDash delivery guys. That's what separates us from them, civilization from barbarism. #Resist

Homer, Euripides, Virgil and Ovid were not writing myths about African gods, any more than they were writing myths about Martians. That's kinda central to the stories.

@DagnyTaggartUSA We moved from St. Paul, MN, to Covington, KY. I estimate our living expenses (groceries, services such as haircuts and veterinary bills) are 20-30% cheaper. NOTE: Whole Foods and Trader Joes are the same, no change in pricing by location GAS - waaayyyy more expensive here

One week of groceries for a family. Nothing extravagant. Just the bare bones in a blue state. I stay home. My husband only leaves the house to work. We have cancelled vacations. Taken our children out of extracurricular activities. Cancelled our gym membership’s. We do not go out to restaurants frequently. I’m wearing the same old clothes that I have for years and I need socks and underwear, but that will have to, I guess, never happen. @RFKJr_Official @POTUS @JDVance HELP!

Underrated life advice: Make yourself easy to root for. Be kind. Be reliable. Celebrate other people’s wins. Work hard without complaining. Carry good energy into rooms. You'll be shocked by how many doors open for you by making life better for others.

If you have to create a shared podium for the boy competing in the girls’ event, you’ve already admitted you know he isn’t a girl and that his participation is unfair. At that point, you're just seeking a public humiliation ritual for the girls.

When I was a college student, I once addressed a professor as “Mister” and he condescendingly tut-tutted me and said “Doctor.” Hey, listen, unless you can save someone’s life or you’re Julius Erving, you can settle the fuck down with that energy.

Literature is humanity’s longest conversation with itself about what it means to be alive. It has been going on for thousands of years. You are not late, you are not unqualified, you are not too much or too little or too broken. Pull up a chair. This conversation was always about you.

@dougboneparth Touch grass. Take a walk in nature, without a phone, multiple times per week. Observe the natural surroundings as you walk. No electronics. Ideally, hold hands with someone you love as you stroll. No work talk during the walk.
