“Work-life balance” always sounded like a weird concept to me. I don’t try to “balance” my life. I go all in on the things that matter: Family. Fitness. Business. Health. Purpose. Some days one gets more attention than the others. That’s life. But I’ve never sat around trying to perfectly engineer a color-coded lifestyle where everything gets equal energy. I just design my life around my priorities and attack them hard. To me, it’s all connected anyway. I’ll take a business call while walking with my family. I’ll think through strategy while lifting. I’ll bring my daughters into conversations about money and ownership. None of it feels separate. The modern version of “balance” often feels like optimized mediocrity. I’d rather live integrated and intense than balanced and half-committed.

@FiSavvy It’s way old and out of touch. Long gone are the frugal ones driving F-150s.

The Millionaire Next Door is the most important book most people never read. It's based on research into real millionaires. Not celebrities. Not hedge fund managers. Normal people who quietly built wealth on normal incomes. 5 things they all had in common: 🧵

My wife an I average ~$120 per grocery visit which is usually for about 15 meals that week. That's $480 a month for 60 meals. Or $8/meal. What does your grocery bill usually look like?

The best CEO's and companies right now are: 1. Obsessed w/ the problem for 10 years+ 2. Biased towards young and hungry. 3. 0% remote, 100% in office 4. Work non-stop. 5. No longer bragging about team size.

@jaketropolis If you go to a golf course mid-day on a weekday, you'll see a ton of insurance salesmen. Probably not going to make millions a year with it but not hard to be at a couple hundred grand a year with minimal ongoing effort

@jaredsmithbets Seems like you’re enjoying the tabloid side of it and therefore opining on the situation. Quit resharing it to give it more attention.

Beating old drum - but maybe the economy isn’t K-shaped, and it’s actually just that lots of dishonest people are making more money, for less work/obligation than you think.
