@jplaysnintendo Gun.Smoke is a solid shooter from Capcom, challenging but rewarding as you make you way through several stages. LOL side note I couldn't get far without the NES Advantage. 😂😭

Catalog NES Game 27- Gunsmoke This was my personal second favorite NES game of all time after Kid Icarus. Gun Smoke is Capcom’s fast‑paced, Wild West vertical shooter, taken from their 1985 arcade game. It was released on the NES in February 1988 The game is a top‑down, auto‑scrolling shooter where you play a lone gunslinger fighting through outlaw‑controlled towns. Each town you build up cash, buy the wanted poster and take down the boss The game received a lot of praise on both NES and in the Arcade. In the arcade it was the 6th highest grossing arcade in Japan in 1986. While the NES version never reached the heights of games like Super Mario it still as a solid success for a third party game and is considered a cult classic among many. #NES #Nintendo #GunSmoke

@jplaysnintendo This is a good one, it's literally Gauntlet but SUPER SIZED. more levels, maze types, character options for multi-players, it's just MORE Gauntlet which how can that be a bad thing? 😀

Catalog NES Game 26- Gauntlet II Gauntlet II was released on the NES in September 1990 in North America. It expanded on the original Gauntlet formula with more maze variety, new hazards, and flexible character selection. The gameplay remained the same as you once again choose from the four classic heroes: Thor (Warrior), Thyra (Valkyrie), Questor (Elf), Merlin (Wizard) Unlike the first game, multiple players can choose the same class, allowing duplicate characters in co‑op. The NES version supported up to two players simultaneously. The game features over 100 dungeon levels You fight through mazes while managing health (which constantly drains), collecting food, keys, potions, and treasure. The NES port aims to replicate the arcade’s fast, chaotic dungeon‑crawl feel. The NES port of Gauntlet II was well received due to critics saying it had Strong replay value thanks to its huge number of levels and A difficulty curve that can be punishing but rewarding #NES #Gauntlet #Nintendo

Catalog NES Game 25- Friday the 13th Friday the 13th based off the movie franchise was released in 1989. Players would control counselors at Camp Crystal Lake with the object being to defeat Jason. You were able to control one of six counselors with the objective being to defeat Jason 3 times. The game sold very well despite generally receiving negative reviews for its high level of difficulty and poor game play. Ryutaro Ito who later went on to work on the Shin Megami series was a tester at the time and stated the game was very hard to work on due to the demand by publishers at the time to make all new games very challenging. Game Informer has listed it as one of the most difficult horror games to play ever made. While Electronic Gaming Monthly called is the 8th worst game of all time. One writer commented that the game was more terrible than the deaths of the campers in the first Friday the 13th film, calling it "craptacular #Fridaythe13th #NES #Nintendo

@jplaysnintendo A Classic and indeed a landmark for Console RPGs, which at time was mostly on PC. Final Fantasy, despite some quirks on the NES is one everyone, especially RPG fans should check out!

Catalog NES Game 24- Final Fantasy Final Fantasy was released in 1987 for NES and was developed and published by Square. It is the first game in Square's Final Fantasy series, created by Hironobu Sakaguchi. The story follows four youths called the Warriors of Light, who each carry one of their world's four elemental crystals which have been darkened by the four Elemental Fiends. Together, they quest to defeat these evil forces, restore light to the crystals, and save their world. The game arrived on the NES when console RPG's were on the rise following the success of titles like Dragon Quest. Which was a huge title in Japan at the time. Final Fantasy’s gameplay was classic turn‑based RPG which the creator had stated he was drawing inspiration from tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons. Final Fantasy was a commercial and critical success in both Japan and North America. It helped establish Square as a major developer. The game had an enormous impact and to this date the franchise spans dozens of entries, spin-offs, and films Final Fantasy for the NES is looked at as one of the landmark titles in video game history. #FinalFantasy #NES #Nintendo

Clash at Demonhead on the NES had one of the wildest, most non-linear open worlds of its time. You could literally choose your own route across a massive map, buy upgrades, and try to stop a literal doomsday bomb. They really don't make box art like this anymore, look at it🔥

@PixelCNinja Is Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind a 10/10 game? no, but It unfairly gets lumped in with Bubsy 3D on the garbage pile imo. Yes it has a floaty jump mechanic & everything kills you, but rule #1 of retro games are they don't hold your hand. It's not the worst ever.

@PixelCNinja lol alot of games 😭 some games did not have guides like the NES had some. Especially PC games. Old games really made you explore, write stuff down and make maps and most importantly did not hold your hand.
