Our sense of time has caught up with itself. There’s no more diverting to the past. Again, the Lib American Dream was all one big thing. & the people trying to do things culturally certainly didn’t like the moments they occupied.

I remember the 90s and aughts. In retrospect there are things I miss, but they’re gone for good reasons. & everyone thought the culture sucked at the time. Everyone was already looking back to More Authentic and Vital eras (we read about in magazines & books)
