Im a big fan of Steven Bissette’s art, who I was first introduced to in Swamp Thing. So with October Im working on something horrific in a style inspired by his one and brush work though with my schedule I likely wont finish before Halloween so here’s a tease.

@SandyofCthulhu Most horror films released in America that will actually endanger kids tend to be done by foreigners. For example Mimic and Hereditary. But sometimes you get something like the Feast trilogy which just goes after everyone and everything on the screen.

I am of course a major fan of horror and horror movies, and I've been this way since I was young. I saw "Day of the Triffids" when I was 6 and man alive. Anyway, I don't care for modern Hollywood horror. One reason is that they suck is that they are usually not allowed to kill a kid or a dog. (Cats are usually fair game.) This means when a kid is being menaced in the movie, there is zero tension. If a kid IS killed, it's usually an annoying one (like in The Blob). Now, in an Italian or Japanese film, the kid is actually endangered. The kid may not die, but ... he might. This means there is tension. Name this film to advance a level in the contest.

@SandyofCthulhu Have you seen The Day of the Triffids with Dougray Scott? I really liked the way they did the triffids in that remake. Brought the book images alive for me.

Much as he creeps me out off-screen, it's hands-down Tom Cruise. What an actor.
