When Hamas breaches the ceasefire, the Irish government remains silent. However, when Israel responds, the Irish government immediately issues prominent anti-Israel statements. Israel is not only condemned, but is instead “strongly condemned” because the implication is that it is Israel’s fault—given that no one else is striking Gaza, even though it is in response to Hamas breaking the ceasefire. Normally, I criticise the Irish government’s anti-Israel bias, but this statement is not bias; it is complicity with Israel’s enemy and it's letting Hanas know that even if they do break the ceasefire, the Irish government has their back.

Remembering Luke Kelly, today,on his 40th anniversary. This was Luke Kellys last performance. His voice and memory had deteriorated badly but he belted out this song with as much heart as possible.
