@russelljkaplan @GergelyOrosz You must be joking. Software engineer = human who builds software. Prefacing that term with AI implies that it's an AI that can do the same thing, and by extension replace them. Acting like it doesn't imply that is at best ignorant, at worst intentionally misleading.

Hey Gergely - grateful for your feedback. We really don't view it that way, so I'd love your thoughts on what would help clarify. Curious: which part of calling Devin an AI software engineer suggests that it should/would replace human engineers? That's roughly the opposite of what we see in practice. Every customer we work with has so much more they want to build than bandwidth to do so. Greater engineering leverage from tools like Devin make it *more* valuable to hire more human engineers (each hire is more leveraged!) We expect the future to have more human SWEs as a result of AI, not less. Writing assembly is ~mostly automated now, yet there are more programmers than ever before. The nature of the job may evolve, but there is just so much more to build. And this is pretty much what we've been saying since we started! E.g. youtube.com/watch?v=OvBiqm…

Nothing feels better than muting a viral tweet and coming back a few days later and seeing absolute carnage in the replies. Everyone yelling at everyone and you don't even notice. Unbothered. Thriving.

@alexanderhupfer @gilgNYC Kinda risky though as often the next step for Shopify will be to build it into their UI, making your app redundant. Which is potentially going to be the case now for any competitors of Checkout Blocks, or even apps doing a much narrower scope at a lower price.

What @gilgNYC did to got from 0 to $10M in two years with Checkout Blocks: Take a new Shopify API, repackage it as a no-code solution. New Shopify API = use case validated by Shopify No-Code solution = large market

@hamadamahdii @kylegawley `mx-auto` applies `margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;`. From a speed/characters written standpoint that savings adds up. Also I work at an agency where we frequently have to work with legacy code and inconsistent designs. It's very useful in this context.

Okay I just double-checked and you are right. Most of them are one class for one CSS property. My bad for the oversight! However, let's take bg-red-500, bg-red-600 etc. as an example. It allows me to quickly apply different shades of red without manually defining each shade in my CSS. The shades look great out of the box. I'm not the best with shades of different colors so this works great for me!

I've never understood the appeal of Tailwind The power of CSS is reusable classes Style once → apply anywhere Modifying a Tailwind style means doing a find and replace on 100s of instances of an HTML object What am I missing?

@dannypostma Love the concept, but given that Hisense is a Chinese company I feel Hisense is going to come with a lot of the privacy/backdoor issues that a Huawei phone will have. Do you think that's a reasonable concern?

This is exactly correct and why the middle in this graph feels lost. The far left will prey on that because they will now tell you that you are a racist nazi and everything else under the sun, but make no mistake, they are the ones wanting to silence speech, control your movements, and destroy freedom in this country. A divided house doesn’t stand nor does a country. Democrats - take back your party.

Having failed to pass the RESTRICT ACT, the authoritarians have used other means to fully control the internet. And no one is even talking about it… “Not with a bang but a whimper.”
Brendan Carr@BrendanCarrFCC

Today, the FCC voted in favor of President Biden’s plan for “digital equity.” I dissented because the plan amounts to an unlawful power grab that gives the government a roving mandate to micromanage nearly every aspect of how the Internet functions. docs.fcc.gov/public/attachm… ⬆️

@harleyf As a Shopify agency dev: people realize that with online shopping the date is somewhat arbitrary, and if you launch your sale early you can potentially capture customers limited holiday budgets before your competitors.

@RyeMcKenzie Startup. Korean drama about a startup accelerator. Obligatory KDrama love triangle aside, the tech and entrepreneurship aspects of the story are very good.
