Hochul announces NYC congestion pricing to begin January trib.al/nkamtsb

The day after @realDonaldTrump victory, @GovKathyHochul and the @NewYorkStateAG held a press conference. "We did not expect this result, but we are prepared to respond to this result." said @TishJames in threatening the President-elect within hours of his election.

NY AG Leticia James is once again publicly admitting that she’s going to engage in lawfare. Trump’s DOJ needs to return the favor.

Transplants who just arrived in New York don't have the right to insist we redesign our entire city according to their agenda just because they hate people who own cars. Sorry we're not Barcelona or Amsterdam. Go be a transplant there if it's so great. I said what I said.

SPEEDING: Turns out that Councilman @JustinBrannan can't drive 25. In the last two years, school zone speed cameras have caught his recent set of wheels motoring more than 10 miles per hour above the speed limit four times, according to publicly available city records. In 2021, the @nypost via @samraskinz revealed that Brannan collected 16 school zone violations in six years. With that record you'd be forgiven if you pictured the guitarist-turned-councilman as Mad Max's Doof Warrior driving in Bay Ridge like it was Fury Road. Brannan vowed to change his speeding ways. “All of us who use cars need to slow down... [I] will take this opportunity to improve my own behavior when I’m behind the wheel,” he told the Post. On Facebook he repented. “[I] will do better starting right now. No excuses.” Promise made, promise unkept? Notably, two weeks after the councilman assumed the office of a new district that includes Coney Island, the car was caught speeding on Surf Ave. Somebody warn his new constituents.

Dante Schaller, 16, was indicted on murder and robbery charges [as an adult] for the gutless killing of 57-year-old Ying Zhu Liu at the Twin Bridges building on Sept. 9, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said. Schaller and his accomplice [who is still at-large] were captured on surveillance video from a nearby deli wearing the same clothing they wore shortly before the alleged murder — but they had removed the masks they wore during the incident. The teen was identified by a red hoodie he allegedly wore during the murder, which was later found by investigators when they swept his East 167th Street home. Police also discovered one live 9mm round at his home — and they also recovered a 9mm shell from a step in the stairwell where the alleged killing took place. Schaller, who had turned 16 on Sept. 11, has an open felony case for assaulting a police officer. Schaller will remain locked up at least until his next court date Dec. 9. nypost.com/2024/10/09/us-…
