We talk a lot about models getting "smarter", having more parameters, etc. But a huge part of what makes a model actually useful is having the right context at the right time. Memory goes beyond storage. It's reasoning. Your brain is making predictions on what''s relevant to you and retrieving those bits specifically. And getting that retrieval right is important for us to build smarter agents. In AI systems, we tried to do this using RAG. But we've come far since then and it's where we'll need to go even further to make intelligent AI. Bullish on memory being the defining focus of 2026 and I think it's one of the most underrated problems in AI right now. I'm hosting a session in KL on 13 March with AI.SEA and Build Club to break it down across the full evolution of LLM memory, from prompt stuffing to RAG to where agentic memory is heading today.
