I really want to know what people who stopped drinking soda replaced it with. What did you replace soda with?

When people say they want honest connections, they often mean comfortable ones and comfort doesn't always include honesty. We expect vulnerability from others that we ourselves aren't equipped to offer, willing to hold, or brave enough to reciprocate.

It took me 5 months and about 25 interviews to land my first job in Canada 🇨🇦 But there is one I will never forget. I applied for a Canadian government role. French was listed as a requirement. I applied anyway. Got through the first stage. No French was tested. Second and final stage. I joined the call. Bonjour bonjour. (As how?) I thought that was just the greeting. The interviewer then calmly informed me that the entire interview would be conducted in French. I could feel my intestines shift. I said okay. A certified Duolingo dropout sitting in silence. The first question came. 45 seconds of full Québécois French. I waited for them to finish. Then I slowly asked if they could repeat the question in English. They did. Politely. I answered. Then they asked if I had any questions for them. That was it. Interview over. I never got a rejection email. Not one. They were too pissed to even send it 😭 What is your craziest job interview moment in diaspora or back home?

Just remembered in 2018, I designed a 78 page magazine for my girlfriend (now wife) for her 19th birthday. Tricked her into doing a photoshoot, hired the stylist, photographer and makeup artist. Also wrote all the articles even interviewed her mum for an article. Sept 2018.

The Catholic Church has consistently taught that each human life, from the moment of conception until natural death, is sacred and deserves to be protected. Indeed, the right to life is the very foundation of every other human right. For this reason, only when a society safeguards the sanctity of human life will it flourish and prosper.

The shoes that spoke until the end. At the funeral of Pope Francis, there was a detail that moved the world: he was buried with his black shoes, worn out for use. They weren't new. They weren't ceremonial. They were the same ones who accompanied him for years. Since the beginning of his pontificate, Francis rejected the traditional red shoes worn by Popes - and chose his normal, simple black ones, faithful to his history and his way of living the Gospel. Even in his final days, he remained consistent: he asked to be buried with them. Those who knew him claim that he didn't like new shoes; he preferred to fix his own and keep walking in them. That seemingly small gesture encompasses his entire pontificate: a poor, humble, and simple pastor.

You think the Catholic Church is a cult because you've never seen real worship in your life. You grew up in a church where the lights are flashing, the music is blasting, people are jumping up and down, crying, shouting, falling out, and someone told you that that is worship. That is entertainment, that is emotion. That is not worship. Real worship is walking into a space and immediately feeling the weight of where you are. - The silence, the incense, candles, people kneeling, heads bowed. Not because someone told them to perform, but because they actually believe they are standing before God. The entire mass is built around one thing, the Holy Eucharist. The actual body and blood of Jesus Christ. Not a symbol, not a memory. God, physically present on the altar. You do not jump up and down in the presence of God. You kneel. You are silent. You receive him with humility because you understand what is actually happening. The early church did not have hype men and a smoke machines. They gathered in silence in homes willing to die for what they believed in. That is the church Christ built. So before you call it a cult, understand what you are looking at first.

I love you Onyi 💜 and I love your idea. But childbirth, I think, is not the greatest sacrifice in marriage. Neither is it the biggest offer that can be brought to the table. The biggest sacrifice is "leaving one's father and mother and cleaving to one's spouse." I say this because, if a woman is unable to give birth to a child, does that mean she can't offer anything? The biggest sacrifice is saying "yes, I will marry you," "yes, I'll do life with you." ❤️

Ultimately, Childbirth is the greatest sacrifice in a marriage.. the biggest offer that can be "brought to the table "

If the two disciples of Emmaus recognize Jesus when He breaks the bread for them, we too should recognize Him in this way. Not just in the Eucharist, but wherever there is a life that becomes broken bread, wherever someone makes a compassionate gift of themselves, like He did. With the grace of the Risen Christ, we can become this broken bread that transforms reality. #GospelOfTheDay (Lk 24:13–35) #ApostolicJourney #Angola

In Cameroon Pope Leo celebrated Holy Mass in flowing French, in Angola he speaks with the fluency of a Portuguese sailor who's just docked on African shores. In Rome his pizza orders are in impeccable Italiano. Waiting for his poetic Spanish in Eq Guinea. Gotta love this Pope.
