You have every right to know what your government is doing, and they have no right to know what you are doing. That is why they are called public servants and we are called private citizens. Instead, the relationship has been inverted. The state hides behind secrecy, classified files, and redactions while demanding total visibility into your finances, communications, movement, and behavior. A society where the rulers live in privacy while the population lives under surveillance is the very definition of tyranny.

Activist: "Your cows are putting carbon into the atmosphere." Farmer: "Where did they get it?" Activist: "What?" Farmer: "The carbon. Where did the cow get it before it put it anywhere." Activist: "From... eating?" Farmer: "From eating grass. And where did the grass get it." Activist: "The soil?" Farmer: "The air. The grass pulled it out of the air last spring. The cow ate the grass. The cow breathed some of it back out. It went back into the air it came from." Activist: "But it's still going into the atmosphere." Farmer: "It's going back. There's a difference between a thing going somewhere and a thing going back. You've described a circle and you're frightened of it." Activist: "Then just don't have the cow." Farmer: "The grass still dies in autumn. It rots where it falls. The carbon goes back into the air either way, just without anyone getting fed in the middle." Activist: "It's not that simple." Farmer: "It's grass, cow, breath, grass. Or it's grass, rot, air, grass. Same circle, fewer dinners. If that's complicated for you I'd stay away from the water cycle. That one's got clouds in it."

After visiting El Salvador in 2023, I posted this: “If I was an investor looking internationally for on-the-ground opportunities, I would immediately get an office in the capital, San Salvador, and look for ways to put money in the country. Multiple sectors are growing fast. The opportunities seem huge.” Three years later, investors who took that advice are probably pretty happy. I’ve returned three times since then. The country continues to be one of the best investment environments I’ve ever seen, as noted below. This will be a multi-decade growth story.

My red grapefruit haul. It was a just a branch from a tree that fell in, ironically Fallbrook, California, saved by me and grafted. 20 years later and 100s of grapefruits later, abundance. We so often look to a factory when it can be your back yard.

This happened Easter Sunday in San Salvador. After the 6pm mass at Iglesia del Calvario, the historic center came alive. A Salvadoran friend shared what it felt like to stand there and watch. Her words: “Just a few years ago I could have never walked the streets near this church. Today I walked them, enjoyed them, and felt so many blessings for how far my country has come. Jesus rose from the dead and so did my country, El Salvador, the savior.” That is not a press release, it is a person standing in their own country feeling safe for the first time in a long time. This is who we are building with. This is why the work matters beyond the genetics and the supply chain and the policy. A nation that can feed itself is a nation that can hold a moment like this one. El Salvador is holding it. Thank you @nayibbukele for giving not just El Salvador, but the world hope. Once again.

Hi fam. Thank you for all the love and prayers 🧡 it’s truly a miracle the baby and I are alive right now and I’m so grateful to my husband and medical team for making that happen. I’m in an enormous amount of pain and honestly having a hard time staying positive. I have an intense few months ahead of me with a healing and growing belly, and then delivery and whatever comes with that, and I just gotta say it, I’m scared. Scared, grateful, scarred, blessed. Everyone keeps telling me how tough I am but I don’t feel that way right now. Anyway, the only way forward is through and I just wanted to let you guys know how much your messages and well wishes have meant to me during this insane time in my life. So much love to all of you, this too shall pass 🧡

Everyone says the family farm is dying. But nobody talks about the guys who figured out a second revenue stream, built a direct-to-consumer brand, or just picked up a camera and started telling people what they actually do.
