@Charles_Benoit @ChadBown @sfstone_trade No, Congress is definitely mad and feeling left out on trade. Thats why I wont be surprised if they try something similar with other deals. I just doubt non-Taiwan deals will sail through as easily especially if a bill strips 30D benefits if the deal was intended to convey them

@BrettFortnam @ChadBown @sfstone_trade Agree with everything you're saying Brett including prob. moot point. But did you expect the Taiwan implementing leg? I thought that was going to be executive only as well and was surprised when we heard about leg.

@Charles_Benoit @ChadBown @sfstone_trade Basically Congress would have to decide to act to exclude a country from accessing 30D incentives. All it takes is one senator to make it v difficult to get that leg through quickly.

@vtg2 Do you think that is correlation or causation? A 2022 headline saying that Jesus returning is killing the economy would be ... something.

Sentiment check: Man on the metro preaching that Jesus is returning soon just said our economy is “failing.”

@vtg2 @SylvanLane @EvanSparks Can we talk about COREPER for a minute? No, that would take several hours and result in no clearer an understanding of the Council of the EU's committee structure? Fine. What about COREPER II...

@SylvanLane @EvanSparks My favorite thing about the EU is the word "comitology," which is their hand-wavey word for the complicated-ass process by which any policy gets enacted.

@JeffPassan How can a new CBA help out the 'middle class' players that have been getting squeezed because of owners' preference for lower cost pre-arb players? (Am I correct in believing that preference is what has led to the decline in median player salary?)

As for how much China missed by, I'll leave that to Chad, who is willing to scour through this data for our benefit. (fin)

China did not meet it's phase-one purchase targets. This is not surprising and was widely predicted when those targets were first published. But U.S. goods exports to China did reach an all-time high in 2021 (covered and uncovered goods). (10/n)
