The irony of the comments below, is that my entire point of the post is that taxes in the US are so complicated that you can take 0 withholdings, have many deductions, and still have to withhold more for your check to cover how much you owe. It doesn't need to be this way.

Did my taxes this weekend. Nothing like being middle class w/ 2 dependents, own a home, max out 401K, HSA & FSA contributions, and don't claim any deductions in my paycheck, but still owe $6K... The new Trump tax plan seems to cost me more every year.

@rushicrypto Probably because you get a property tax that is based on a perceived value of your house and not what any town services require. You build a shed, the town demands more taxes. Why? No one knows.
And you get a sales tax, and an earned income tax...on and on.

6% of eligible voters in the US earns more than $184k a year. The other 94% would absolutely benefit from this and remember who saved social security. That 6% also still benefit from it. Try again.

One of the most radicalizing moments of my life was when I learned that they just stop collecting social security taxes on money earned over like $150K. Like you just suddenly keep 3-6% more money on all money over that threshold.

@BrianHunt06 @BuckeyeNatty They add 30 minutes a day, plus then lunch in the day off doesn’t count. In the end they probably only lose about 2.5 hours of school and depending on what they do with those 30 minutes added each day could make things more efficient
