In a way, it feels like the Rebels blew up the "normal" manifestations of the Empire in A New Hope and so the next two movies do not have a Tarkin equivalent anymore. The demons behind the mask of "order" come to the forefront.

If you put him in a robe and a hood you'd just accept that as normal because he is the non Force sensitive equivalent of a Sith Lord. He is what Palpatine might be if he couldn't shoot lightning. He's the Empire in human form as much as Sidious, Vader and Blackhole are.

Logically, he *knows* killing Obi Wan means absolutely nothing, and that Sidious is the real source of all his pain and suffering.

Although it’s executed well, I don’t like Twin Suns as an ending for Maul. By this point he shouldn’t give a fuck about Obi Wan anymore cos he knows Sidious never intended on sharing power with him even if he DID kill Obi Wan on Naboo. Freddie jr Sisyphus rant be damned.

He’s ignoring twenty other ‘changes’ because they don’t involve women or minorities:
- Most of Rogue Trader tone/scale initially present
- Custodes being naked and oiled bodyguards
- Horus isn’t just a random guy
- space marines aren’t actually ex-criminal cops
- Horus Heresy is changed to actually exist. Rather than just a vague list of battles, it’s an actual story: the imperial truth, Monarchia, Istvaan, Calth, Prospero, Moloch, Terra, the final duel.
- Chaos actually described as metaphysics not just hell
- Squats gone in their dwarfier form
- Genestealers actually aren’t tyranids
-Necrons being unthinking robots
- Custodes going out into the galaxy
- Belisaurius Cawl knowing the Emperor and being an important character to some extent in the 30k verse
