Stop paying full price for gas! Charging your Tesla overnight saves you big, often over $200/month. It's cheaper, convenient, and takes less time than a gas station fill-up. Schedule it and save

@butala_aryan It’s unusable for a family with more than two kids. Once the third row is up, you lose valuable storage space. YL cannot replace my model X unless they produce a complete second row.

Driving My Tesla from the Arctic Ocean to Tierra de Fuego in the Dead of Winter… I am proud to announce that on July 16th, I became the first SOLO person in history to drive the FULL length of the Americas with an Electric Vehicle! Total Duration: 747 Days Countries: 15 Longest Wait Time to Charge: 3 days (Peru) Fastest Charge: 35 Minutes (Chile) Distance driven - 46,961km (29,350mi) Windshield broken: 0 Flat tires: 0 (OMG) - No Spare Ran out of Range: 1 (Chile - Atacama Desert) Total energy consumed: 8,444 kWh Ave Energy Consumption: 179.8 Wh/km (286Wh/mi) Bribes Paid: 1 - $100 USD Robbed: 0 Fines: 0 Breakdowns: 0 Dogs Adopted Me: 100+ Funny Police Searches : 2 The Pan-American Highway is the world’s longest highway, almost spanning the full length of North and South America. Before today, no one had yet driven from the tippy top of North America (Tuktoyaktuk) into the Darien Gap to the southern tip in South America (Ushuaia) in an electric vehicle solo - unsupported. My Model X, Beluga, was converted into the ultimate stealth overlanding rig, with a full kitchen, running water, Starlink and 300 watts of solar panels on the hood, which allowed us to roam across some of the best most remote places on Earth with confidence. The real challenges here…border crossings, cartels, and corrupt cops, yet I embraced it all. Charging on the other hand, was quite a puzzle sometimes, being a foreigner and having very little information to go on. I discovered how far along the electric movement is and where the short comings lie…and I can say with confidence that Tesla Supercharging is the best and most reliable infrastructure out there… I wanted to showcase that anyone with a dream can make it happen, without needing all the answers. Thank you to all the kind strangers that helped along the way, and the countless dogs that adopted us and kept guard at night! youtu.be/PwVQiI5j250?is… The irony..Ushuaia currently doesn’t have any power…so this message is coming from Space, Powered by my Custom Solar Panels! @Tesla

@Michael_L_Rauch @Tesla I’m standing in front of the Model YL, it is a far cry from a Model X. Beautiful vehicle though in its own right. I love the new color.

Sat in the Model YL today. Beautiful, but not as amazing as I thought. If you’re considering it, I would sit in the car first. Especially if you have 4 kids (unless they’re small). Had a feeling space would be an issue, and I wasn’t wrong. Still need a larger vehicle from Tesla.

It still doesn’t solve the luggage problem, though. With 6 people, you cannot fit 6 carryons and 6 backpacks for a local trip to the airport. But it’s a great commuter car!

Check out Austin’s experience with the Model YL. It’s much different than mine (must be because he has a full head of hair and in better shape!). He’s 6’2 and feels more comfortable than I did at 6’0. One thing that does concern me (I didn’t test this) is his head hitting the glass in the rear seat (unless you slouch). Problem is, if the person in the middle needs more room, or the driver, it all affects that last row. Then again, he’s 6’2. This is exactly why I suggested that anyone considering a YL actually go down and try it out! See what works for you! Thanks for sharing, @AustyUSA!
Austin 🇺🇸@AustyUSA

Tesla Model YL impressed the heck out of me! I’ve seen all the reviews and noticed many of the same things, so I won’t repeat what others have said, but I want to highlight stuff I haven’t seen many/any people talk about! TL;DR: passenger space is plentiful and not an issue, best model Tesla sells. Game changer for families. Passenger space/comfort I am 6’2 and can comfortably fit in all 3 rows even when adjusting them all to fit me-sized humans! Leg room is 100% not an issue. The only catch is 3rd row headroom. In a proper seating position, my head hit the glass. However, another guy who was 6’0 sat back there and was totally fine, so torso length matters! Even for me, a lil slouch or scooting my butt forward and it was totally fine. 6 adults can easily and comfortably fit in YL for sure. The thigh supports in the front row do absolutely nothing for anyone taller than probably 5’8. Very underwhelming. The captain’s chairs recline REALLY far, almost laying down, combined with the heated AND air conditioned seats and the first two rows are positively luxurious. Arm rests are also great and very sturdy. They come up high enough to still be comfy even for a tall guy like me. Tons of rear vents, air flow was really good and consistent throughout. Trunk space The sub-trunk cover magnetically attaching to the 3rd row seat-back is a great way to claw back some of the lost space when the 3rd row is up. Makes it very usable. Also, people have criticized the bump when the 3rd row is down, but there’s a pair of little folding arms (4th pic) that pops up and makes it totally flat. Great design! Head rests They are adjustable up and down via a mechanical button that you press and hold and just lift/lower the headrest by hand. (3rd video) Pretty decent amount of travel, and a huge improvement! These are on the 1st row AND the captain’s chairs! Camping I had a quick chance to fold all the seats down and climb in on my belly and close the trunk, and this is a huge improvement over the normal Y. I had TONS of room, my toes weren’t touching the trunk and my head wasn’t touching the front seat, not even close! And that was without moving the front seats at all! I sleep in our 2023 Y all the time and it’s great, but it’s only barely enough room and only with the front seats allllll the way forward. Also, the 4 extra vents in the rear cabin will be huge for air flow, which is somewhat of a problem in other Ys. Zen Grey Interior I’m a big proponent of Tesla’s white interior, and I like the Zen Grey! Definitely not stark white, but it’s still very light and looks phenomenal. Doesn’t look dingy at all. If you’re a white interior enthusiast like me, you’ll love Zen Grey too. General observations The showroom was PACKED with people and everyone was there for YL! I talked to a lot of people and let me tell you, families are super excited about YL! It was fun to watch everyone’s reaction as they climbed in the 3rd row and were shocked how usable it is.

People claiming that the new Tesla model YL has beat the model X in “every way” really need to give their head a shake. Stretching the wheelbase of the vehicle by a few inches and adding power folding center captains chairs do not in any way shape or form replace features of the Model X including 4 corner adjustable air suspension, power rear doors, power front doors, bigger screen, tilt screen, PLAID mode, bigger brakes, higher towing capacity, larger frunk, better sound system, easier to use door handles, fog lights etc…

$60k Cybertruck was truly an insane value. It might have even been a near zero profit margin deal. I assume they did that as a brute force demand test to inform strategy. I keep going back to check the specs on my order because of disbelief. Yes, it really is AWD and has all the main utility features! The home battery optionality gives even more insane value. Though, I'm still gonna slow roll delivery until they fix/finish Powershare. They say an OTA update will soon let it V2H with only a Powerwall 3 and a Wall Connector. Due "mid 2026". If they can somehow scale up to 100k units, I think it could jump start the cost reduction virtuous cycle. CyberSUV would likely do it, if they're willing to double down. Regardless, the CT is an awesome vehicle and in many ways it enabled Cybercabs. It may never become a direct source of material profit, but sometimes you just have to build out the tech tree.

@DaveHawkinsX @niccruzpatane @Tesla Y sucks. YL adds a little more room for the car seat with sliding captain chairs...but then you can't use the rear tether. All seats up in YL? No storage.

Here’s a cheap date night hack. Take your wife out to a nice resort hotel near your house but instead of going to their restaurant, use their pool table and buy endless ice teas. When you get hungry, order some food at the bar. You’ll have a blast and save a ton of money.
