#Leafs need to start leaking Rielly’s refusal to approve trades to the media if that’s what’s going on. He’s costing them opportunities to get good players. We’d possibly have Werenski now if Rielly wasn’t blocking trades… Time to chase this shithead out of town!
Willyston Riellander@nylanderthews
As I mentioned on Tuesday's pod, I'm wondering about PHI as a Rielly destination now They're looking for an offensive D, a PP1 QB and were hard after Darnell Nurse and John Carlson They didn't get either and are now left with a boat load of cap space. Would Rielly waive though?

@logopatt After ‘the Soviet threat’ was taken out, our capitalist rulers went back to their original agenda of serving the interests of the billionaires and enslaving everyone else and turning millions into desperate wretches. It’s Victorian England again; it’s clearing the plains again.
English

@LeafsRundown Indeed. Stupid John Chayka did Flyers a solid there. He also threw in Simon Benoit who will be bringing back Flyers’ rough and tumble identity and defend and go beast mode in the playoffs. Beautiful, young defender.
English

Woll’s 81 games played in the past two seasons puts him 28th overall in the NHL.
In the same time span his GSAA (11.41) at 5on5 would rank him 20th.
He should form a pretty good platoon with Vlader.

Philadelphia Flyers@NHLFlyers
HBD, Joseph Woll! 🥳🎉 Can't wait to see you in Orange & Black.
English

@SportsDataQuest @JeffVeillette They had to trade one goalie, but they did not have to trade 2 talented young goalies, keep an old one, bring in a new one (old one) who gets paid more than any of the ones they traded away. Stolarz should have been traded, Woll and Hildeby played, Akhteyamov as a third option.
English

Jeff, they had to make a goalie change. Hildeby wasn't passing through waivers and they weren't keeping 3 goalies on the roster.
You had to trade someone and then after trading one of them, you had a situation where all 3 of the goalies left in the system would have had to ALL play career high in games just to get through a regular season.
That is not a legitimate option.
They also had to build a proper bottom 6 that can take D-Zone and PK minutes off of the top6.
English

It wasn’t, at least in the way they chose to do it. Their goalies have put up good to great results for the past couple years and it’s not hard to find guys who can score 8 goals

@JeffVeillette You make it sound like spending on goaltending and a legitimate bottom 6 isn’t what the Leafs definitely needed to do.
English

@HapDay86 @JamesRa60183380 @mcclusk Marner was also amazing. Top 10 scorer, actually a Swiss Army knife - defends, PP, PK, blocks shots and creates all the offense. Rielly, again, absolute garbage player - can’t do anything. He’s literally good at nothing.
English

@JamesRa60183380 @BringBackBabs @mcclusk Fans did the same thing with Marner. PP/PK/Even strength struggling? #16 gets all the blame, warranted or not!
English

@fellachance @MTLinNU @IceMetrix Oh, sorry. You’re right - your chart proves that Lane Hutson is better than Cale Makar. I’ll shut up and go away now.
English

No Team in the NHL is set up for the Future better than the Montreal Canadiens, and its honestly not that close.
When you are able to lock up ur entire core for multiple years, not a single one hitting over 10M, it gives you so much space and flexibility to build around that roster. Sure they may not have a Celebrini, McDavid, MacKinnon level player but they have an incredible core, while also being able to add so much around them. You just dont see the same thing with any other teams right now, and with 21 Year olds getting 18M a year, you probably never will again.

English

@HapDay86 @JamesRa60183380 @mcclusk Dude, what sport are you watching??? Rielly a Swiss Army knife?? He literally can’t do anything. Nylander is a top 20 scorer in the league over the last 20 years.
English

@JamesRa60183380 @BringBackBabs @mcclusk #88 is a one trick pony making $11.5 where Mo is a Swiss Army knife making $7.5m. Mo is required to excel in all areas of the ice plus stick up for his teammates but #88 is only required to excel in one area. Why isn’t #88 held to the same expectations?

@SportsDataQuest @TLNdc @PuckPedia If Rielly’s on the team:
McCabe Raddysh
OEL Tanev
Andrae Stecher
Rielly healthy scratch until he accepts a trade that works for the Leafs and bought out if a trade can’t be arranged.
English

@TLNdc @PuckPedia If Rielly is on the team:
McCabe - Raddysh
Rielly - OEL
Andrae - Tanev
If he isn't, replace him with the new person or move OEL over and bring in a new 2RD. They didn't bring in Raddysh to keep Rielly 1st pair.
English

A look at the Toronto Maple Leafs' backend.
Who do you think starts together on opening night?
(h/t @puckpedia)

English

@TLNdc @PuckPedia First pairing Rielly with another defensive D - that’s funny!
English

@fellachance @MTLinNU @IceMetrix He also gets regularly plowed over and scored on by men. He’s one of the softers players in the history of NHL.
English

@BringBackBabs @MTLinNU @IceMetrix Comparing at the number of games he has played to date, Lane Hutson has the most assists in history amongst dmen. In history. #1.
English

@MTLinNU @IceMetrix You’re dreaming. They’re good, but they’re not great.
English

@BringBackBabs @IceMetrix You can’t be living under a rock in the same division as us? Lane Hutson’s trajectory is superstardom, as is with Ivan Demidov, Suzuki is already there with the the hardware.
English

How many defenders can skate backwards and keep up with McDavid like Makar did here? Unreal play #GoAvsGo
Kalshi Sports@KalshiSports
What's a great defensive play from recent memory that's under-talked about? Kalshi traders are forecasting the Rams, Texans and Seahawks as the top fantasy defenses in 2026.
English

@JordanLeafs93 @ZachWerenski @MapleLeafs @LeafsPR @MLSEPR @AM34 You may as well add: they have to find a way to get rid of Morgan Rielly to make room for Werenski’s cap hit.
English

#JohnChayka & #MatsSundin need to find a way to trade for @ZachWerenski before the season starts. Flip the page & script. @MapleLeafs @LeafsPR @MLSEPR @AM34
English

@burner694 @905WalterK My point is that Rielly gets favorable starts and always gets to play his stripped g side because he’s the worse player on any pairing he’s on.
English

@BringBackBabs @905WalterK Rielly-OEL was one of the few pairings that was above water last year so I’m not sure what you’re trying to argue here
