1 year ago this poster showed the results of my scoping project re. communication needs on mental health wards. Next month the communication service will start after successful funding and recruitment. A huge quality improvement win and one of my proudest work achievements 😊

We love to get patients involved in group activities here on the female stroke rehab ward. This week we ran a sensory group joint with OT and Physio! Our patients were singing, smelling, seeing, hearing, touching and tasting! We even made BioZoon “mulled wine” & hot chocolate🎅🏻🎄

Such an important area being discussed by Ruth Fitzsimons on the link between language and emotional regulation and literacy. Noticing this link on the ground in my everyday clinical practice @iaslt #IASLTconf23

We also refreshed our knowledge of cough reflex testing & how it helps assess the integrity of airway protection during swallowing. Identifying different cough types can guide tailored interventions, reduce aspiration risk & enhance patient care #mySLTday @standrewsSLT #SLTsinMH
