@BradyStrachan thanks for coverage of hard working Kelowna firefighters some lost their homes in August 2023. Could you do similar coverage on North Shuswap, where our volunteer fire fighters faced that beast, and also lost own homes including the Scotch Creek fire hall itself ?

Approving Rosebank is a horrific decision. It's in the exact opposition direction to what we need. It's an act of environmental vandalism.

Humanity has now impacted every part of the Earth System Atmospheric carbon dioxide ⏫ >50% and methane ⏫ >150% since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution We have warmed the planet by 1.2˚C All due to capitalism, colonialism and global consumer culture. #Anthropocene

"Removing carbon from the atmosphere is costly and uncertain. We must do everything possible to stop putting it there in the first place." Well said! 👉@IEA's new report on a 'Net Zero Roadmap': iea.org/reports/net-ze…

@standearth @FortisBC RNG is not a viable option, being another methane gas. Air source heat pumps readily-available, far more efficient source of energy than gas can ever be - and is safe for the climate. My heat pump great all winter and during this summer heat-I literally cannot live without it.

@FortisBC We were also excited to connect with local leaders at #UBCM23 last week. We heard a request from many for clear, unbiased information about how to meet B.C.’s climate targets by decarbonizing buildings, so we obliged with our own open letter. #ActOnClimate safecities.earth/ubcm-zero-carb…

As B.C.'s largest energy provider, we are excited to connect with local leaders at #UBCM23 next week. We have a critical role to play in meeting B.C.'s climate targets and look forward to discussing solutions that lower emissions while meeting our growing energy needs.

@standearth @FortisBC Yes! Stand.earth. We all need to move to Emission Level 4 of Zero Carbon Step Code, the quicker the better. And having oil and gas companies participate and delay the implementation, is not helping. No more sponsorship of this type at political events!!

Mayor Sim and @Vote4ABC just voted down my motion to extend temporary modular housing leases to prevent more people from becoming homeless. 😳 It’s infuriating and unacceptable. But I will keep fighting for secure, dignified housing. And a #Vancouver for all of us. #VanPoli

Many more people need to understand that the #ClimateCrisis doesn't just manifest in extreme heat, fire and floods -- among its most disruptive impacts will be to our food and water systems. This is what it looks like 👇
